CIVICS players owe it to their head coach Helmuth Scharnoswki to post a victory over Hotspurs tonight, or their chances of ending among the top at the end of the season will be under greater threat.
Civics meet Hotspurs at the Sam Nujoma Stadium at 20h00.The win would serve as a turning point for Civics which is currently struggling to find its feet after a poor start in the league. The Civilians relieved their former coach Ricardo Mannetti from the job after they did not manage to get the needed points, leaving them with only four from their eight encounters to date.Civics have won the league three times in a row and suffered their past three defeats through last minute goals by the opposition. They lost 2-1 to Orlando Pirates last week Wednesday and this time, with Hotspurs also coming from a 1-0 defeat against Eleven Arrows at the weekend, the Civics players will have to throw in everything for their club owner and coach Scharnoswki.Meanwhile, team manager Paul Stramis announced that spectators will only be allowed to enter through the VIP gates for logistical reasons. He said they do not expect a big crowd for what is termed a low-key encounter between two sides which are drifting in the lower half of the log. Hotspurs is last in the league with no wins from their eight matches to date. corry@namibian.com.na
