WHAT I. Kubisch (August 31) said is basically right.
It took the Ministry only four working days after that letter to the parents, to “do some work” – and the schools Gunichas and Aminuis Mokaleng can open as usual. The questions to be answered are these: Why did the Ministry not honour its commitment to the four church schools in Omaheke with 2 000 boarders and pay the subsidies which in any case represent only 25 per cent of what the State has to pay for a boarder in a State hostel? Is it negligence, inability or purpose on the side of the official who handles the subsidies, although he was repeatedly approached already before the end of the 1st term? Into whose coffers has the N$50 000 interest – due for 100 days -disappeared? Is it the Ministry or a private person? If there is any sense of fairness and justice, please Honourable Minister of Education, look into this! The church schools have been robbed in broad daylight! Maybe this is a case for the ACC.Dr Ph.
