WINDHOEK – The Namibian Government and the People’s Republic of China on Thursday signed a grant agreement amounting to N$10.3 million (equivalent to RMB Yuan 10 million).
It was signed by Ambassador Wei Ruixing of the People’s Republic of China, and the Director-General of the National Planning Commission (NPC), Tom Alweendo.A media statement issued by the NPC’s Elijah Mukubonda said Namibia and China established diplomatic relations in 1990, following the independence of Namibia.These bilateral relations have since developed smoothly, with fruitful cooperative projects in the fields of politics, economy, trade, culture, education, science and technology, public health and information exchange.The grant is envisaged to further solidify the relations and cooperation that exists between the two countries as it will benefit additional Namibian priority projects and programmes that will be agreed upon through consultations between the two governments. – Nampa
