THE Police at Ongwediva in the Oshana Region are investigating a case of kidnapping that allegedly happened at Integrity Pre-primary School at Ongwediva on Monday.
The parents of six-year-old April Shapumba opened a case of kidnapping after their daughter was taken from school by a woman who took her to her house and told the girl to wait for her uncle to pick her up.When the child’s mother asked the principal and the girl’s teacher where her daughter was, and threatened to call the Police, they called the woman and told her to bring the child back. When the woman was questioned, she said she didn’t intend to kidnap the girl, she just took the wrong child. Anthony Shapumba, the little girl’s father, said he is not happy with the way the principal and the teacher handled the situation.Even though nothing happened to his daughter, Shapumba said she would be placed in another school because he feared for her safety there. The Oshana Police spokesman, Sergeant Slogan Matheus, said the Police are still investigating the case and no arrest has been made.
