BRAKE failure has been blamed for a 13-car pile-up in Windhoek’s central business area on Tuesday.
Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Teofelus Willem said yesterday that a truck driver lost control of the vehicle near the offices of the City of Windhoek, causing a chain crash involving 12 other vehicles.No serious injuries were reported, Willem said, although major damage was caused to all the vehicles involved.The extent of the damage is still being determined.A case of reckless and negligent driving is being investigated against the truck driver, the Police officer said.* An unidentified man drowned in the Goreangab Dam outside Windhoek on Tuesday. The body was discovered floating in the dam at around 12h15.* Two men were arrested in Windhoek on Sunday and charged with raping a 15-year-old girl. Multiple rapes were apparently committed at the Greenwell Matongo and Goreangab informal settlements.
