THE Cazadores Inline Hockey Club will host its second tournament of the Namibian inline hockey season from Friday until Sunday.
More than 300 inline hockey players representing 33 teams from three clubs will be battling it out in 10 divisions, from the eight-and-unders up to the open division.In the open division, where a record number of five teams will be participating, eight of the 11 national players can be seen in action.Putting their skills to the test this weekend will be Marco Debortoli, Oliver Jooste, Riyaan and Zaid Ely, Michael Falk, Dominic Denker, Stefan Ihms and Quintin Kotze.The three national players from the Badgers club, Otwin Förster, Lars Dobberstein and Ulfried Cramer, participated at the last Cazadores tournament.The Namibia National Open Team will be travelling to Italy in mid July to participate at the FIRS World Championships in Roccaraso, Italy.On Friday the Cazadores tournament kicks off at 16h30 with two exciting open games from 20h00 onwards.At 08h00 on Saturday morning the eight-and-unders will start a long hockey day which concludes at 23h00. At 11h00 the women will be playing followed by an open game between two teams from the Kamikaze club.At midday, Cazadores v Kamikaze will battle it out in the 18-and-under category followed by the ten-and-under quarterfinal and semifinals.Another open game will take place at 17h25, followed by a 12-and-under semifinal match.Many exciting games in every division can be watched while enjoying the delicious food that Cazadores is famous for. And of course not to forget the wonderfully warming Glühwein.All the finals will take place on Sunday, starting at 08h30 until about 13h00.Cazadores club invites the public to come and enjoy top-class inline hockey action at the Cazadores Inline Hockey Club, situated opposite the DHPS School in Church Street where the cars are safe, the children – when not watching hockey – can play soccer on the lawn and the parents and grandparents can enjoy delicious Glühwein and food in an exciting atmosphere.On Sunday there will also be draws for the Kiddies’ Baskets and the Farmers’ Basket, so make sure to buy your raffle tickets early. -namibiasport.com.na
