Cash boost for under-17 league

IT will be all systems go this Saturday when the final of the Khomas Under-17 Youth League will be played at the Sam Nujoma Stadium.
This week, MTC gave a sponsorship of N$25 000 to serve as cash prizes as well as for trophies and medals.

MTC is sponsoring the Khomas Under-17 Youth League final for the second year, having come on board in 2008 when Orlando Pirates won the second edition of the league. Civics were the inaugural winners in 2007. MTC spokesman Albertus Aochamub said his company was on record repeatedly for extolling the virtues of youth development. ‘Our contribution should not be seen as a mere gesture to see the completion of the under-17 league. We are sincerely committed to youth development in all the codes that we sponsor, hence MTC’s insistence on these codes spending some of the resources on the empowerment of young players. I wish all the teams good luck but most importantly, it is my expectation that some of these players will impress the big clubs while others will go on to play for the respective national teams,’ said Aochamub.Saturday’s programme at Sam Nujoma Stadium09h00: The Diplomats versus National Media Team10h00: Coaches versus Social League XI11h00: Khomas U-17 Losers final: Ongete versus Pehi Pehi
