Shiimi made the call at a gala banquet that the Club hosted here for its members from the four northern regions of Oshana, Ohangwena, Omusati and Oshikoto on Thursday night. The banquet was held to coincide with the Economist Businesswomen’s Conference at Ongwediva on Thursday and Friday.Because of the development of the previously disadvantaged businesswomen in the country, Shiimi said the FNB Foundation had decided to sponsor the Economist Businesswomen’s Conference for two consecutive years.Shiimi pointed out that the FNB Foundation sponsored the conference to the tune of N$80 000 the previous year, but the sponsorship was increased to N$120 000 this year.According to Shiimi, the FNB Foundation encourages the development of more women in business. The patron of the Economist Businesswomen’s Conference and Businesswoman of the Year 1999, Sara Elago, said at the banquet that the conference had brought together northern women for the past six years to share business expertise and skills.Elago described the conference a wonderful coming together of women in business and a platform where women and their business entities are popularised.First Lady Penehupifo Pohamba, who closed the conference officially on Friday, also attended the banquet.- NampaThe banquet was held to coincide with the Economist Businesswomen’s Conference at Ongwediva on Thursday and Friday.Because of the development of the previously disadvantaged businesswomen in the country, Shiimi said the FNB Foundation had decided to sponsor the Economist Businesswomen’s Conference for two consecutive years.Shiimi pointed out that the FNB Foundation sponsored the conference to the tune of N$80 000 the previous year, but the sponsorship was increased to N$120 000 this year.According to Shiimi, the FNB Foundation encourages the development of more women in business. The patron of the Economist Businesswomen’s Conference and Businesswoman of the Year 1999, Sara Elago, said at the banquet that the conference had brought together northern women for the past six years to share business expertise and skills.Elago described the conference a wonderful coming together of women in business and a platform where women and their business entities are popularised.First Lady Penehupifo Pohamba, who closed the conference officially on Friday, also attended the banquet.- Nampa
