A BUSINESSMAN and a farm manager were released on bail of N$5 000 each following their second court appearance in the Karasburg Magistrate’s Court on a charge of stock theft on Monday.
Willem Johannes Kamfer (44), who is the owner of Carlays Motors at the town, and Hendrik Swartz (39) were arrested last Tuesday for allegedly stealing 152 sheep valued at N$138 800 over a period of close to a year from the farm Hamad in the Ariamsvlei district where Swartz was employed as a farm manager. The case was postponed for further Police investigation and to allow them to obtain legal representation. Kamfer and Swartz will return to court on May 31.
