Blair: ‘Troops for Africa’

ADDIS ABABA – British prime minister Tony Blair said Thursday he wanted the swift resolution of African conflicts to become the “top priority” for a European Union new rapid response force, promising an audience in Ethiopia that troops could be sent to crisis areas within 10 days.

Blair, making a speech on the future of the continent in Addis Ababa, said that while it was best for the continent to end its own wars, “there will be times when Africa cannot stop a conflict on its own.” – Nampa-AFP- Nampa-AFP
