TIGERS will hope that former coach Brian Isaacs does not expose their weaknesses when they meet Black Africa in a premier league match tonight.
Isaacs in now BA’s technical director and his insight into a Tigers side he had led for their first five league games of the current season could catapult his new employers to victory. After two opening victories Tigers lost their next three games and Isaacs, under pressure from management, opted to resign. Despite the consecutive losses, Isaacs believes Tigers’ bigwigs should have kept him on. Ironically, Isaacs inspired Tigers to a first-round victory over BA and will be expected to assist new coach Otto Landsberg in turning this match in BA’s favour. Isaacs said although he would love to see BA win the match, he bore no grudges against his former club. ‘First of all I have no hard feelings towards Tigers,’ Isaacs said. ‘They had respect for me and I respect them. When it comes to this game, I would like to win.’Isaacs, renowned for his shrewd tactics, believes having coached Tigers recently does not give BA the upper hand.’I would not say we have an advantage,’ he said. ‘Obviously that’s something coaches always think about. They have a very good coach in Ronnie Kanalelo and very good players so anything can happen.’Tigers were held to a 1-1 draw by Eleven Arrows in their last match, while BA’s game against SKW was called off last Friday due to an unplayable surface at the Independence Stadium.
