Big Brother Africa: Your SMSes to us

* THANK you The Namibian for spelling it out like it is on the BBA Richard (****) incident. If there’s anything good to come out of it, it shows how much education must still be done on sex abuse and changing men’s attitudes towards women. Social workers and educators educate us and leaders take note.

* JEAN, just accept that the BBA article was one-sided. Like Osho said, BBA is a reality show. The viewers can expect anything to happen whether right or wrong. Richard did a stupid thing, but that is reality. Alcohol clouds people’s judgements. – Toivo * Thanks for your SMS Toivo. Love you, too! You’re entitled to your view, but sorry, not prepared to back down on the truth to fit some people’s views. Even in reality shows there are limits. Getting drunk is one thing – that is stupid; abusing a woman far exceeds the bounds of stupidity: it is wrong and morally reprehensible and should not be accepted by any society. Being drunk and stupid does not give a person the right to infringe on someone else’s rights. – Jean Sutherland* CAN’T a black woman get drunk in the company of a black man without being taken advantage of? With men like Richard, my heart constantly goes out to black women on this continent. Would BBA have allowed this to happen if Ofunneka was a white girl? – Washamba* FOR Big Brother’s throat. I do not and will never condone abuse of any kind, and I apologise if anybody was offended by my remarks – but my position still stands. If Africa and The Namibian really want to help Richard, petition BBA for him to be kicked out, without delay. What message are they sending out by keeping him there, if they really were concerned about his behaviour? Message is: It’s OK to cheat on your wife, sexually abuse women and your reward could be US$100 000.- Osho Thanks again, Osho. I really do appreciate what you have to say, and that you’re being interactive on the issue. People are petitioning the broadcasting authority in South Africa to review the footage of the incident – you will see that we’ve done a bit of a separate update on the controversy. Keep your views coming. These issues need to be debated. – Jean Sutherland* AN injury to one is an injury to all. Women across the continent should be outraged and up in arms over what happened in the BBA house on Saturday. If we turn a blind eye to it and keep silent, we are saying we approve of what Richard did. No self-respecting, proud African woman, or man, for that matter, should keep quiet. ABUSE CANNOT BE ALLOWED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. We must get up and stand up for our rights. Yours in RESPECT and PEACE.* I WISH Tatiana would be evicted cause she is the type that makes it difficult for us to find a man. Why are African men so interested in blonde women. I also don’t like the fact that Tatiana is all the men’s favourite! BBA sucks!* Thanks for your SMS Toivo. Love you, too!
