Big Brother Africa: Week 3 and counting …

AFTER a hectic week of blood, sweat and tears as a result of the physical challenges issued by Big Brother, the housemates got to let their hair down and boogie to the sights and sounds of Channel O on Friday.

They danced the night away as music videos streamed across the plasma screen. Even Jeff was in the mood,getting down with Tatiana.The free-flowing alcohol and music seem to set spark to some of the brewing sexual tension in the house as Code and Maureen finally kissed and Richard surprised all by hooking up with Tatiana.A tipsy Maureen and Code danced for most of the night and finally cuddled up in bed.But Maureen’s joy was somewhat short lived as Code did a 180-degree turn the next day.In typical Code fashion, he gossiped behind her back and dished all the dirt to Maxwell, saying that he was unimpressed with Maureen, implying that she was not a good kisser.In a discussion with Maureen later, he spun a different story.Code told her that he felt guilty about their kiss as he had a girlfriend back home.Does this spell the end for their union or is it just a matter of time before Code comes crawling back for some more of Maureen’s good lovin’? As for Richard and Tatiana – what a shocker! The girl’s a man-snatcher, and Richie? Only four months married and already tempted …Something has definitely developed between the two.It all started on Friday night, when the two pushed their mattresses together and slept in the lounge.I don’t know for sure what went on under the covers but the next morning, Richard could not keep the grin off his face.He was overheard whispering to Tatiana that she was magnificent the night before! Seems outside attachments don’t count for much in this game.Both Tatiana and Richard are involved in serious relationships on the outside.Tatiana at least had the grace to feel guilty.The next morning saw a sheepishly hung-over Tatiana cringing at the events of the previous night.The same cannot be said of Richard – the brother was glowing.Could there be some true feelings involved or is it all part of Richard’s strategy to get the girls to fall in love with him? HAIR OF THE DOG Early on Saturday morning, before any of the housemates could wipe the sleep out of their eyes or even think about showering, Biggie ordered them out to the yard.Out of sympathy for Bertha, each housemate had to play soccer on crutches, using only one leg! And as if they weren’t all hung over enough, the housemates were provided with alcohol which they had to drink after each goal.It all descended into a screaming match as competitiveness, fatigue and the booze began taking effect.Afterwards, the housemates decided to stage an impromptu modelling and dancing competition.They were paired up and had to choreograph a routine just for the fun of it.Maxwell acted as MC and judge and announced Jeff and Tatiana as the winners.Completely missing the spirit of the game, Justice confronted Max, demanding to know what his judging criteria were.Shame, poor Max, he was hung over and tired – his voice hoarse from officiating the games and yet he still had to deal with a drunken Justice wanting to know why he had not won.Needless to say, this too spiralled into a redundant debate, with other housemates getting more and more irritated at Justice and his little inferiority complex.It was a relatively early night for the housemates, who were all so bushed that they practically fell into bed.D-DAY Sunday morning saw all the housemates preening and primping in preparation for the first eviction.Lerato undid her braids, while Tatiana applied Maureen’s makeup.Just as they were getting comfortable, Big Brother sent word that all housemates were to pack their bags, immediately! This certainly stirred things up and had the housemates on edge, guessing as to their own fates.In a rather unfair move, KB told a shocked and bewildered Meryl, on live television, to announce to the housemates the person she had chosen to replace, with whom and why.Eish!
