Big Brother Africa: Has Biggie gone nuts?

WHAT the testosterone! Is this Big Brother Africa or ‘Prison Break’? Or possibly Unemployment Central?

A house full of guys!! Twelve male housemates? Nuts to you too, Biggie!Big Brother sure put the revolt into the revolution as far as the viewing masses are concerned. Half the continent reacted as though they’d been kicked in the gonads … aikona and einaaaaaaa! … and the other half as if they’d been byatch-slapped. Dizzy that! And the SMSes streamed in across the BBA strip: where are the girls, the gals, the galz, the women, the chicks (not one of my favourite terms), the chiks (ditto). Where, where, where?I received SMSes from as far afield as Cape Town, and phone calls from everywhere, even the informal settlements on the outskirts of Windhoek, to ask what the freak is going on.Don’t worry. The girls are on their way – apparently. Reports have it that 12 of the fairer sex, they without whom men cannot live, will make their entrance next week.Back to the brothers. Anyone else notice that most of them list their ‘occupations’ as unemployed?Otherwise, the guys are feeling each other out. And no, I don’t mean in that way!Y’know, Iron John stuff. Connecting and all that. Bonding, blond-ing and boozing.Just how the overall housemate situation is going to play out remains to be seen. With 12 more people set to enter the house, it’ll bring the total number of inmates to 24, possibly minus one evictee. First nominations were to take place yesterday, but not sure at the time of writing whether it’s one of those fake deals.Fourteen countries, 24 housemates?!!Or are some of the housemates plants or transients? Alternatively, has Biggie got some other diabolical plan up his sleeve?Guess we’ll just have to wait and see.Going to keep it short today, BBA nation. There’s a lot of basic info we need to give you.
