Big Brother Africa 3: Party time with Lucille

NAMIBIA’s newest celebrity, Lucille, is back home.

The pretty 21-year-old spent just over a month in the Big Brother house and during that time crept into the hearts of Namibians who have welcomed her home with open arms. Local sponsors Spes Bona Motors have gifted her with a top of the line Alfa Romeo, with a driver, to use for her first few days back.MTC and DStv Mobile have given her a snazzy new Samsung P910 TV phone and Club La Dee Das will host her eviction party this Friday (October 3).She may not have won the BBA prize money but during a press conference at MultiChoice yesterday, she proved that if she can handle a room full of journalists, then she can certainly go far in life. Here is what she had to say: The first night The house just looked so weird and everybody was so excited, jumping about.Everyone was talking at the same time and screaming out loud.I decided to step back.I was pretty scared of everyone and everything. It was only after a few days that I could come out of my shell.Being HoH I came into the house knowing that I had to be prepared for anything and everything. The week that I was HoH, I was actually relieved that we were all up for nomination, that I didn’t have to nominate anyone. Her strategy I didn’t really have a strategy before I went into the house. How can you have a strategy when you don’t know who you will be in the house with? I just wanted to have fun and chill.Love triangle? There really wasn’t any love triangle.I never planned to get the boys to like me, people in the house would tell me that so and so liked me.My plan was to go unnoticed. Both Ricco and Munya are just my friends.Nothing more. They were like brothers to me, I could talk to them.TK’s brown jersey I actually wore that brown jersey.I thought it was pretty cool! I didn’t know that it was a big issue outside of the house.Uti’s issues The night that Uti exploded because I told him that using the word ‘retard’ was offensive to me, I was so shocked. It was a real downer and I never expected him to talk to me like that.I got really uncomfortable.I was really missing home at that point.Eviction blues I was really surprised and shocked to see the reaction of some of the housemates [after she was evicted].Uti breaking the table and Mimi crying.Later that night I went back to the hotel and I was just chatting with my brother when KB came to my room with some Ugandan artists.A little while later, DJ Cleo knocked on the door.It was so great to meet him because I am such a big fan of his music. We went out for pizza. It was really cool.Mother tongue I am from a Damara-Nama background but I can’t speak the language.Growing up, my parents spoke mostly Afrikaans.I feel really bad that I can’t speak my mother tongue but watch this space, I would love to learn.Future plans I would like to finish my degree in travel and tourism and get into some modelling and acting on the side.Celebrity I don’t see myself as a celebrity. The night I got back home I went to Nando’s and people were just looking at me, no one approached me, so I really don’t see myself as a celebrity. It’s great to be known but I really hope that I don’t disappoint anybody.* Check the action on DStv channel 198, the daily shows on Channel 102 at 20h00 and e-mail your views to bba@namibian.com.naLocal sponsors Spes Bona Motors have gifted her with a top of the line Alfa Romeo, with a driver, to use for her first few days back.MTC and DStv Mobile have given her a snazzy new Samsung P910 TV phone and Club La Dee Das will host her eviction party this Friday (October 3).She may not have won the BBA prize money but during a press conference at MultiChoice yesterday, she proved that if she can handle a room full of journalists, then she can certainly go far in life. Here is what she had to say: The first night The house just looked so weird and everybody was so excited, jumping about.Everyone was talking at the same time and screaming out loud.I decided to step back.I was pretty scared of everyone and everything. It was only after a few days that I could come out of my shell.
