LOS ANGELES – R&B diva Beyonce will serenade Barack and Michelle Obama with the Etta James classic ‘At Last’ when the couple take to the floor for the first dance on inauguration night, the singer said on Friday.
Beyonce, who played James in the recent film ‘Cadillac Records’, said she was honoured to be performing for the first family at tomorrow’s inauguration festivities in Washington.
‘To sing ‘At Last’ while they have their first dance is a dream come true. I could not be more honoured and excited that they have asked me to be part of this moment in history,’ she said.
The 27-year-old singer will sing for the Obamas at the Neighbourhood Ball, one of 10 official balls scheduled for inauguration night. – Nampa-AFP
