AT the annual auction of Genetics Namibia later this month, local cattle breeders will offer the biggest variety of cattle at one single auction.
Apart from 50 bulls from 15 different breeds, there will be more than 400 cows and heifers for sale. Six years ago a group of Namibian breeders decided to hold one big auction to be called ‘Genetics Namibia’. This event has grown from strength to strength, Gielie Vermeulen, the coordinator of the event, said.Breeding material of the highest standard and quality will be offered. Prospective buyers can choose from breeds such as Brahman, Boran, Brangus, Angus, Afrikaner, Braunvieh, Beefmaster, Charolais, Bonsmara, Limousine, Sussex, Simmentaler, Simbra, Braford and Santa Getrudis.The auction will take place on August 25 at the Agra / Bank Windhoek Ring in Windhoek.
