BEE law will come, Angula

THE making of a Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) law remains a challenge, Prime Minister Nahas Angula said on Wednesday.

Speaking in the National Assembly, Angula said BEE would be dealt with systematically and comprehensively to avoid negativity. “We don’t want a system of window dressing.We want the programme to be transformational and emphasise ownership, employment and delivery,” he said.Angula said there would be meaningful participation from the Employment Equity Commission and rural areas, women and youth will be the beneficiaries of the planned BEE law.The Prime Minister said BEE should emphasise economic growth, ownership and should be a transformational empowerment tool.Angula was responding to questions by opposition DTA MP McHenry Venaani, who wanted to know why a BEE law had not been implemented to reduce economic imbalance.Venaani said the same people continued to benefit from BEE.-Nampa”We don’t want a system of window dressing.We want the programme to be transformational and emphasise ownership, employment and delivery,” he said.Angula said there would be meaningful participation from the Employment Equity Commission and rural areas, women and youth will be the beneficiaries of the planned BEE law.The Prime Minister said BEE should emphasise economic growth, ownership and should be a transformational empowerment tool.Angula was responding to questions by opposition DTA MP McHenry Venaani, who wanted to know why a BEE law had not been implemented to reduce economic imbalance.Venaani said the same people continued to benefit from BEE.-Nampa
