WHAT a weekend in the Big Brother Africa house! On Friday night, the jacuzzi was still being cleaned and the housemates had to find other ways of amusing themselves…
Just as they thought Biggie had forsaken them for the night, he ordered them outside to the garden where they had a hilarious game of ‘Pass the Parcel’. The 12 housemates had to sit in a circle on the lawn and pass the parcel to the sound of music.Once the music stopped, the housemate left holding the parcel had to open it, read and follow Biggie’s instructions. Then as the music started up again, the parcel would continue to be passed around until all the smaller boxes layered inside were opened and read. One of the funniest tasks of the evening was the ballet dance performed by crazy Richard, Jeff and Justice.Another funny moment was when Maxwell was ordered to imitate one of his fellow housemates for five minutes. He chose to imitate Justice and was spot on in his imitation of the short Motswana. The last parcel of the bunch sent all the housemates to the storeroom for a surprise.Hoping for lots and lots of booze, Max could hardly hide his disappointment that it was only their suitcases! He thought at least Biggie would give them some alcohol to celebrate Richie’s birthday.Only later did he give them just a few beers and only one or two bottles of wine, just enough to whet their appetites but not enough to get some real action a-brewin’.Once they were able to get all their clothing and personal effects they got all sentimental as they showed each other some of their personal photos.Lerato got quite a shock when flipping through Maxwell’s pics to see he just so happened to have a conveniently forgotten girlfriend back home.Who is tall, slim and beautiful to boot.Poor Lerato could not hide her emotions but tried to make a joke of it.Although Max was very clear when he said they could be buddies, I get the feeling she was starting to feel a little more than simply flirting. She could not stop saying, “So that’s my competition?!” The mad bunch only ended their evening in the early hours of the morning sitting in the lounge, with Code strumming his guitar and each housemate singing in their own languages about their countries.A WALK ON THE SOFT SIDE On Saturday, most housemates showed their vulnerable sides as they each had to make a presentation about themselves, using photographs and other personal mementos.Max said that as a child he came close to suicide as he could not cope with the abuse his mother suffered at the hands of his father.Tatiana also hinted at a troubled childhood and said her mother had to struggle to raise her sisters on her own.”We were like nomads, moving to a new town every six months”.Lerato got all choked up as she described her mother as the centre of her universe, “I don’t know what I would do if anything were to ever happen to my mother” she remarked tearfully.Bertha went on and on, even boring Maxwell to such an extent that the brother fell asleep! She spoke of how she realised a career in law was not for her and that she had a passion for communication, not hinting at much personal she chose to concentrate on her future goals saying “Oprah, watch out – here comes Bertha!” Our girl Meryl remarked that she had always been the ‘black sheep’ of the family but that she had a wonderful relationship with her mother.Later, Biggie had a huge surprise up his sleeve.Meat – finally! The housemates could barely contain their elation at the sight of a golden chunk of roast lamb and bottles and bottles of booze.I don’t know if it was the booze, but people who were previously lying low have certainly come out.Tatiana was smouldering hot in a bikini – she gave Meryl a run for her money as the two danced enticingly in the jacuzzi. The boys could not seem to drag their eyes away, even married Richard wasn’t complaining at their saucy moves. After almost a week of flirting, Meryl and Kwaku finally got to go for the good stuff as they locked lips during a game of truth or dare.Viewers on the SMS strip were begging Lerato to cover up as she walked about in the tiniest of hotpants, displaying her dimpled thighs for the whole of Africa to see.Ofunneka is one strange chick – for real.Nigerians and many Africans don’t seem too impressed with her.Besides the ‘ouma’ jersey and old-fashioned swimsuit, the girl was breaking out the weirdest dance moves this side of the equator. All alone, in front of the mirror!
