BBA Column: ‘Please change Justice’s nappy …’

IT seems Botswana’s BBA housemate Justice is coming up short in just about every department.

He’s short in stature, short of spirit, short of humour, short when it comes to the truth and can’t hold a short one. The okaperson threw a ‘terrible two’ tantrum on Friday and sulked until Sunday. After one beer, as one of our resident BBA watchers commented, Justice wants to debate.Someone.Anyone.And he usually ends up on the receiving end.First it was Bertha, then Lerato, then Max.And on Friday night, he DECIDED to turn a blunt, offhand remark by Meryl into a major diplomatic issue. She said she was sorry if she had offended him, but the boy went on and ON and ONNNN and ONNNNNNN.As if his stuck-record act was not enough, he started exaggerating and LYING on top of it.As his story grew taller, Justice grew smaller. In short, Justice, no stranger to ?ipping a rude comment, and far from a stranger when it comes to using culture to justify his chauvinistic tendencies, likes to dish it out, but can’t take it.Was it desperation ahead of the ?rst round of nominations? Looking to whip up some sort of sympathy vote.Attentionseeking? Too much froth in the beer.Probably a combination of all these factors. And, boy, did the SMSes ?ow: “Can someone please change Justice’s nappy!”, “Go home cry-baby”, “Be a man”, “Justice act your age and not your shoe size”, “Justice, stand up.Oh you are”.And those were some of the nicer ones. He’s made height an issue. He must live with it.And if his time in the house is short-lived, he’ll have only himself to blame.
