THE Brave Warriors beat the Namibia Defence Force 5-0 in a warm-up match in Otjiwarongo on Saturday, after leading 4-0 at halftime.
It was new coach Ben Bamfuchile’s first match in charge of the Brave Warriors and he included several foreign-based players who joined the team last week. George Hummel and Henrico Botes of Moroka Swallows, Paulus Shipanga, who has joined Silver Stars, and Costa Khaiseb and Hartman Toromba, who have joined Black Leopards, all played a part in Saturday’s match. The goal scorers were Costa Khaiseb with a brace, Henrico Botes, George Hummel from the penalty spot and Johannes Seibeb.According to team manager Markus Damaseb, it was a fine all-round performance although he did single out Letu Shatimwene, who did very well and “controlled the midfield”.Damaseb said that Razundara Tjikuzu, who has joined Rezespor in Turkey, and Richard Gariseb of Wits will join the team this week. They were still hopeful that Quinton Jacobs of Ajax Cape Town and Robert Nauseb of Santos would be released by their clubs for Namibia’s Cosafa Cup showdown against the Seychelles on Saturday, July 22.-namibiasport.com.naGeorge Hummel and Henrico Botes of Moroka Swallows, Paulus Shipanga, who has joined Silver Stars, and Costa Khaiseb and Hartman Toromba, who have joined Black Leopards, all played a part in Saturday’s match. They were still hopeful that Quinton Jacobs of Ajax Cape Town and Robert Nauseb of Santos would be released by their clubs for Namibia’s Cosafa Cup showdown against the Seychelles on Saturday, July 22.-namibiasport.com.na
