I AM a teacher and member of Nantu [Namibia National Teachers Union] and I feel sorry for the current administrators when it comes to providing feedback to teachers using various types of information technologies.
I appreciate the fact that sometimes they do give information via the NBC radio and newspapers on the status of wages/salaries negotiable. However I was surprised when I logged onto the Nantu (www.nantu.org.na) website to see if I can get any information regarding this issue and there was nothing about teachers’ wages/salaries negotiation with government. As teachers we are supposed to be a little bit ahead of other people when it comes to education (ICT included) but this state of affairs worries me.I pay my membership fees every month and I don’t even get the union’s official newsletter. Something should really be done to improve things at Nantu.Silas ShishonaTeacher, Khomas
