Baby, you ring my bell …

Baby, you ring my bell …

ON Friday, housemates were given an hour to create cellphone ringtones.

For some it was an opportunity to vent their sexual frustrations, for others a time to showcase their creativity. And for one or two, their batteries just died.No signal! Ofunneka’s ‘Foxy Mama’ was one of the best. There was a bit of tigress in it as well as an upbeat tempo: “Grrrrrrr, Hey Foxy Lady, pick up the phone, would you pick up the phone”.It sure as heck would make anyone listening to it smile.Trust Richard and Meryl to get a bit Christina Aguilera. The two seem to be among the most highly charged people in the House and their ringtones had a bit of the ‘I wanna get dirty …’ about them.Richard especially seems to be feeling certain needs, what with getting lap dances from Tatiana and Meryl, and then hanging onto Tatiana as if his wife lived on another planet. The duo’s ringtones were obviously a reflection of their state of mind at the time.Meryl’s ringtone asks Big Brother to do something about a bothersome itch, which is setting her on fire, while Richard’s ringtone was out and out explicit. He rapped about being in motion and having a potion he needed to apply because “I wanna, wanna masturbate”.It wasn’t surprising that his ringtone had the ‘M’ word because he had earlier been thinking about asking BB to give him a few minutes to do the deed in the toilet. He wanted the CAMERA COVERED.Most other ringtones were above average, but nothing spectacular.Max’s ringtone was disappointing. It was a community message on stopping stigma against people with HIV, but it went on way too long.Lerato, as expected, spoke of her ‘beloved baibiee’.Her life seems to revolve around ‘Fabio’ aka Maxwell. Her ringtone had the proverbial ‘baibe’ in it.Code played the African drum, while Kwaku did the housemates’ popular remix of ‘bomb diggy diggy’.Bertha and Justice should not give up their day jobs! B was too controlled, while Justice, with no one to debate, sang a song about Africa, though it sounded rather like was wailing about someone called ‘FREAKA’.We’re now waiting to see what BB does with the ringtones …and if Richard’s and Meryl’s will pass the censorship test! And for one or two, their batteries just died.No signal!
