POLICE in the Karas Region yesterday reported that post-mortem examinations conducted on bodies of five Keetmanshoop residents between April and June showed they had died of cold.
Confirming the autopsy findings, Police Deputy Commissioner Rosalia Shatilweh said the five people had died of hypothermia.Hypothermia is caused by prolonged exposure to low temperatures. Among those who died were a married couple, Adam and Sara Fredericks, aged 71 and 64, who were found dead in old minibus body on June 8. Others who died of cold were Jacob Windstaan (66), Willem Eigub (46) and Johannes Kennedy (23). luqman@namibian.com.na
