MAGISTRATE C Quendonz at Oshakati has issued a warrant for the arrest of the President of the Namibian Bus and Taxi Association (Nabta), Magnus Nangombe.
Nangombe was found guilty of contempt of court after he failed to attend a labour court hearing. Nangombe is accused of unlawfully dismissing four Nabta office bearers.The four – former regional chairman Pendapala Nakathingo, national secretary Vesper Muunda, deputy national treasurer Immanuel Ankambo and national deputy secretary Elvis Kauesa – were dismissed on October 9 last year.They claimed that their dismissal was unfair and filed a case with the Labour Court.Nangombe was summoned to appear in court on Monday but did not turn up.Nangombe is accused of unlawfully dismissing four Nabta office bearers.The four – former regional chairman Pendapala Nakathingo, national secretary Vesper Muunda, deputy national treasurer Immanuel Ankambo and national deputy secretary Elvis Kauesa – were dismissed on October 9 last year.They claimed that their dismissal was unfair and filed a case with the Labour Court.Nangombe was summoned to appear in court on Monday but did not turn up.
