TWO suspected armed robbers got away with N$2 000 from a bar at Kanyofi village near Ondangwa after raping an 18-year-old bartender in the early hours of yesterday.
One of the suspects was arrested at Ondembo village near Oshigambo in the Oshikoto Region.Police Chief Inspector Karl Theron says the two men arrived at the closed shebeen and woke up the two bartenders, who were sleeping in their room next to the bar, and demanded the keys of the bar and the safe.The two women refused, whereupon one of the men pulled out a gun and the other a knife and forced the two women (one 38 and the other 18) to give them the keys. The one with the gun forced the 38-year-old woman to go with him to the bar and give him the money, while the other one remained with the younger woman in the room and raped her. Afterwards the two fled in a car.In another incident, the Police in the Oshana Region have arrested a NamPost Courier driver in possession of an allegedly stolen jackpot machine that he loaded at Omaalala village on the Oshakati-Ondangwa road.
