WE were incensed at the ruthless, premeditated murder and robbery of Alexandra Mooren at Swakopmund on 23 August 2004; deeds that, in the words of the presiding judge, were “heinous, cold-blooded and horrendous” and “absolutely unnecessary”.
We are equally horrified at the fact that the killer had stolen the weapon in question, a .22 revolver and a hundred rounds of ammunition, by breaking into a parked car at Swakopmund the day before.
