Amushelelo quits NEFF

Political activist Michael Amushelelo has confirmed his resignation from the Namibia Economic Freedom Fighters (NEFF) with immediate effect.

Amushelelo on Sunday told The Namibian he believes he contributed enough to NEFF after joining the party in March 2022.

“My fellow Namibians, it is with a sad and heavy heart that I inform the nation that I have resigned from NEFF,” he said.

Amushelelo added that he is ready to join any political party that will allow him to change things from inside.

“I am free to associate with any party … with Swapo, let me not say anything at the moment. My wife has to decide,” he said.

He further said he realised that he gives more time to politics than his family.

“I would, however, like to assure the nation that I will continue being the ‘people’s general’ and I will continue providing much needed leadership to our country,” said Amushelelo.

NEFF was recently deregistered by the Electoral Commission of Namibia for failing to submit financial reports in compliance with the Electoral Act.
