NAMIBIA’S Pan-African welterweight champion Ali Nuumbembe will fight Daniel Kaefer of Germany in the main bout of a boxing bonanza to be held at the Windhoek Country Club on October 17.
Boxing promoter Nestor Tobias said that Kaefer was a good fighter and that the winner could receive a top ten ranking. “Ali’s target is to fight for the world title, but we have to take it step by step and will have to go through the process.Kaefer is a rated fighter and the winner will definitely improve their rating,” he said.Tobias said the WBA, which is currently holding its annual convention in the Dominican Republic, had approved the fight and there was a good chance that the winner would be ranked amongst the WBA’s top ten welterweight fighters.Kaefer is less experienced than Nuumbembe, with a professional record of 12 wins and four defeats, compared to Nuumbembe’s record of 19 wins, three defeats and one draw, but Tobias said he would be a tough opponent.”He is a good kid.He is still only 23 years old, but he has already fought for the German title, which he lost on points. He is a southpaw and will be a tough opponent,” he said.Nuumbembe thanked the sponsors and vowed that he would not disappoint his fans.www.namibiasport.com.na”Ali’s target is to fight for the world title, but we have to take it step by step and will have to go through the process.Kaefer is a rated fighter and the winner will definitely improve their rating,” he said.Tobias said the WBA, which is currently holding its annual convention in the Dominican Republic, had approved the fight and there was a good chance that the winner would be ranked amongst the WBA’s top ten welterweight fighters.Kaefer is less experienced than Nuumbembe, with a professional record of 12 wins and four defeats, compared to Nuumbembe’s record of 19 wins, three defeats and one draw, but Tobias said he would be a tough opponent.”He is a good kid.He is still only 23 years old, but he has already fought for the German title, which he lost on points. He is a southpaw and will be a tough opponent,” he said.Nuumbembe thanked the sponsors and vowed that he would not disappoint his fans.www.namibiasport.com.na
