ABSA Islamic Banking has won the Best Islamic Bank in Africa Award for the second consecutive year, the bank said yesterday.
This was according to the latest Islamic Finance News poll results.
‘Tumultuous global markets aside, the Islamic finance industry maintained its position and continues to fare better than its conventional counterparts,’ Absa said.
‘The Muslim community has recognised that Absa Islamic Banking enables them to adhere to the dictates of Shariah Law while still enjoying all of the value and convenience offered by a major bank,’ said managing director of Absa Islamic Banking, Ahmed Moola.
‘Our customer retention rate of 98 per cent is unheard of in the conventional banking environment,’ Moola said.
