‘A case of justice denied’

ANC president Jacob Zuma has been denied the chance to prove his innocence or guilt after charges against him were dropped, the SA Catholic Bishops’ Conference said yesterday.

‘The NPA decision not to proceed with the prosecution of… Zuma has denied both Mr Zuma and the country the chance to establish his innocence or guilt once-and-for-all through the normal process of a court of law,’ SACBC spokesman Cardinal Wilfrid Napier said in a statement.’However, in the interests of peace, healing and reconciliation, we appeal to all parties involved to use this unfortunate situation as an opportunity to commit themselves to good governance.’It is crucial that all in position of responsibility learn from this episode to shun corruption in all its forms,’ said Napier. – Nampa-Sapa
