2 more road deaths reported

TWO more fatal Easter weekend road accidents were reported yesterday, bringing the death toll for the four days to 23.

A seven-year-old girl from Windhoek, Dantago Harases, died in the early hours of Friday in an accident on the badly potholed main road between Okahandja and Karibib. According to reports, the vehicle in which Harases was a passenger was travelling towards Karibib when the front tyre of an oncoming vehicle burst.According to the Police, the other vehicle swerved across the road, and Harases’s father Samuel lost control of his car, causing it to overturn.The little girl died on the scene.In the second accident, 55-year-old cyclist Frenandu Ndiwonhamba was hit by a Toyota Conquest in the northern town of Helao Nafidi on Saturday morning.He died on the scene.According to reports, the vehicle in which Harases was a passenger was travelling towards Karibib when the front tyre of an oncoming vehicle burst.According to the Police, the other vehicle swerved across the road, and Harases’s father Samuel lost control of his car, causing it to overturn.The little girl died on the scene.In the second accident, 55-year-old cyclist Frenandu Ndiwonhamba was hit by a Toyota Conquest in the northern town of Helao Nafidi on Saturday morning.He died on the scene.
