Woody Jacobs quits Arrows

WOODY Jacobs will not be coaching Eleven Arrows next season as he misses his children in Windhoek, he said yesterday.

Jacobs, who helped the club retain its Namibia Premiership status, said he opted not to extend his stay beyond the past season.
While his initial agreement was only until the end of the 2011-12 season, he had the option to remain with the Walvis Bay outfit.  
“This move was prompted by my desire to move back to Windhoek to be closer to my children,” said Jacobs.
“I would like to thank Arrows for their unwavering support and the confidence they had in me and we would not have succeeded in avoiding relegation if is was not for them. I also want to use the opportunity to wish them well for the upcoming season.”
Jacobs was appointed as Arrows’ head coach after Congo Hindjou was fired last November following their worst start to an NPL season in years which left them battling relegation.
Arrows eventually avoided the dreaded drop on the final day of the season – three points ahead of  United Stars, who went down along with bottom-placed Hotspurs.
