SKW hosts annual youth soccer tournament
By: STAFF REPORTERSPORT Klub Windhoek (SKW) will host its annual youth soccer tournament at its sports grounds in Olympia this coming weekend. The co-ordinator of the SKW Youth Soccer Academy, Klaus Otto, said they were overwhelmed with interest in this year’s tournament that begins on Friday evening and will end on Sunday afternoon.
“We had many requests from teams that would have liked to enter, but unfortunately because of space and time constraints this was not possible. We have entered teams into this competition that offer youth soccer from under-9 up to under-17.”
Notable participants include Swakopmund Football Club (SFC) and the Otjiwarongo Football Club who have been regular travellers to the tournament.
Windhoek-based competitors SKW, Ramblers, Namibia Youth Football Development Programme (NYFDP), and Khomasdal Football Association (KFA) will also be part of the third edition of the tournament.
For the second year, girls’ under-15 teams will be taking part in the tournament.
The main sponsor of this tournament is once again Retirement Fund Solutions. Game schedules and additional information can be obtained from www.skw.com.na.
