Food For Thought
*GIPF must consider at least cash payouts for civil servants buying houses. For example, if the house costs N$200 000 and the member has in excess of N$600 000 cashable pension, then buy cash and avoid interest and 25 years of payment.
*CAN someone please investigate Otjiwarongo’s Medical Practise because they make their workers work like slaves, but they are paid less than domestic workers. No pension and no tax because their salaries are peanuts. Their bosses are driving expensive cars, living in luxury houses, while their employees are crying because of hunger. Can somebody do something about this because I thought that workers have rights, just to find that workers at Otjiwarongo Medical Practise lost their rights long ago. They are just making other people richer while they are sitting with nothing.
*Police Officers are demoralised by those who cover up for our Inspector General. He is not at fault here, those at fault are those directly appointed by him to help him lead the force, especially the Regional Commanders and the Regional Crime Investigation Commanders. They have joined the regions a year ago and they will have the most say in the promotions. They are basically getting information from their trusted people like the Unit Commanders, Inspectors and Chiefs Inspectors. These people are feeding them with malicious lies about the juniors and they are never rotated or transferred. We, old members will never be promoted while those middle men are running the show.
*President Hifikepunye Pohamba, congratulations on your government’s decision. Teachers were hungry and went on strike. Now you are deducting the peanuts you gave us. Elections are approaching. Go ahead and deduct from teachers for striking to fund your Minister’s Benzes and we will surely know where to put our votes. We were united with the strike and we surely will unite with this.
*EX-PLAN fighters who sacrificed their lives in exile are really forgotten. This government ought to compensate the late comrades beforehand. They are the people that contributed most to our freedom. Many of them were killed in action, they neutralised the enemy, their families should be considered before the so-called N$200 000 for projects. If there is a resurrection after death, what will you say to them as their leaders during the liberation struggle?
*CONGRATULATIONS Martin, Councillor of Oshakati West Constituency and member of the National Council for having concern for disabilities. It is true that rehabilitation services need to be strengthened but not many people know that. You have seen how your colleagues behaved when you were talking about disability matters, they were too noisy, but the nation heard you clearly. Keep it up.
*THE colonisers were so successful to programme the Africans way of thinking. Today Africans believe that traditional leaders, tribes and their tribal politics are evil and primitive and need to go and be replaced by modernity which is nothing more than European culture.
*PAULUS Noah, thanks for the effort to find out why most of the Chinese scholarships were awarded to most of the government officials’ kids. I was one of the applicants but I didn’t succeed though I was one of the top students in the country that year. Why should our our parents be asked to make declarations or send copies of their payslips with a few cents for their kids to get government loans while those at the top, who are not taxpayers are enjoying access to everything?
*WE want the owner of Moola Mobile or shareholders to appear on TV and explain to the public how fairly Moola Mobile selects winners. The public don’t see that machine which selects the winning number. Please just show it, even once.
*OH my goodness. What a place to be in Otjiwarongo. Haddasa Guest House. The reception, service, hospitality, cleanliness, beauty etc. Wow you can’t imagine the rooms. Thank you to the owners for such a beautiful place.
*TO the Police Officer who has taken up the post as the official spokesperson of NamPol and Inspector General Sebastian Ndeitunga, some people know where they come from and can go back if our peace is disturbed. Where will you go?
*SOME shortsighted people are blaming the Police for impounding the tourist’s planes that landed at Ondangwa Airport without permits. The Police are 100% right. Even if tourists bring in much needed revenue they need a permit to fly in our airspace, that is simple. Even in their countries of origin, it is the same. Why are you so protective to say they are innocent pensioners when there are crystal clear regulations that were violated. Are the tourists exempted from those regulations? To be a friendly destination does not mean the country should be lawless and everyone should be flying their aircrafts left and right at will.
*MTC in conjunction with the police are big thieves. Why do they not trace stolen phones anymore? The MTC management must please revise their policy on the tracing of stolen phones.
*MOOLA Mobile winners are not selected randomly. If Moola collected N$80 000 from us. The winner on Wednesday will be selected from those who played up to N$18 000 and imagine if you played up to 100 or even 200 000 people.
*SOME people in NamPol have been promoted and many others will benefit only because of unselfish sacrifices made by us, exposing tribalism, nepotism and favouritism in the force. All we want is to be treated equally, Inspector Geneneral Sebastian Ndeitunga please.
*IT is fine that Paulus Noah of the Anti-Corruption Commission dropped the probe into the Chinese bursaries but he too should resign from the ACC because he is not competent enough to run the show.
*THE service at Social Security Commission, GIPF and Inland Revenue is a matter of concern. I would like the management of these institutions to do something to prevent further delays, inconveniences and the demoralisation of clients.
*Trade and Industry Company Registration department is anyone there? I phoned three different numbers that I was given for enquiries between 11h05 and 11h20 but as usual no reply on any one of the three numbers although they rang and rang! Calle Schlettwein please check up on this “no service” in your offices which has become the order of the day!
*TO the Ministry of Justice and the police. I couldn’t believe my observation that the police, cleaners and the administrators are the biggest culprits that are making noise during court sessions. Visit the High Court and see for yourself, there is absolutely no order at the court entrance managed by the police as if they don’t know their duties. All you hear in court is the noise in the corridor. I wonder how the judges bear with this nonsense. Inspector General Sebastian Ndeitunga, please arrange officers at the High Court to deal with these undisciplined constables and sergeants.
*NOW that the fuel prices are dropping, the public deserve a corresponding reduction in food prices in our stores and taxi fares in order to reduce the high cost of living for the poor.
*TO the reader and SMS writer who prophesied the 666 doomsday due to removal of Bible Studies from classes, is it not odd that most murders and passion killings are committed by people whose ages suggest they are likely to have been in school when Bible Studies was taught religiously?
*HATS off to Sandre Botman, the speaker of the Children’s Parliament, for boldly declaring that God is the source of her strength during these times we are living in. What a leader. What an example. May you be blessed all the days of your life. And may you lead with wisdom from above.
*CITY of Windhoek Transport Division, your municipal busses are useless and unreliable because they are always late and sometimes they don’t even pitch up. They are a waste of money and resources, because they do not benefit the public. Please do something because we are sick and tired of waiting for busses that are always late and sometimes don’t even show up.
*SUIDERHOF Army Base kitchen, your staff don’t know how to cook. The food is very poorly prepared because the Commander of the Base, General Kashopolwa Shamungula, has a separate stove where they prepare his nice meal. Health Inspectors please assist us in this regard.
*Abstaining from sex. Viva Namibian woman Viva! Please the men or women who have never been abused can please keep their mouths shut. What we know is that life is like a wheel. Today you are up tomorrow you are down. Anyone can be a victim. One month is nothing. We are not only abstaining by doing nothing but we will be praying the whole month instead of having sex. Please support our women. We are fed up.
*I SUPPORT prophet Elizabeth Sackarias. She laid her hand on me and I was healed and free from nightmares really. She even paid for my medication, God bless her. – Onghelo from Windhoek
*Namibians are stupid? These words do not sound good, especially to Namibians like myself. I would like to tell the Deputy Minister to change his bad behaviour towards the community. That is not a good thing. How can Namibians understand each other if our leaders are shouting bad words towards the community?
*THE Otjiwarongo complex was built, but we the youth are at home without work. All these shops came with their own employees from Windhoek. That is really unfair. No jobs are available at all and we are sitting at home. We should maybe engage in prostitution.
*NON Oshiwambo-speaking police officer from Nampol, being appointed as the official spokesperson of Inspector General Sebastian Ndeitunga does not mean you should insult us. Calling people a bunch of liars and referring to your colleagues as inferior is uncalled for. What is your truth? We never did this but since you are inviting us to do it, we can do it. In any event you sound like the Inspector General himself.
*WE will remain focussed and we are against tribalism, nepotism, favouritism and regionalism in NamPol. We are for the government policy of national reconciliation. If anyone is against this, they are against us. The so called new-born non-Oshiwambo-speaking Police Officer who actually sounds like Sebastian Ndeitunga, is just a ploy to divert attention and there will be many new-borns. We will deal with the issues until all of us are treated equally.
*INSPECTOR General of NamPol, if we are a bunch of liars come out with the truth and tell the nation how many Tswanas, Hereros, Damaras, Namas, San, Kavangos, Basters, Coloureds and minority Owambo tribes men and women are in charge of your directorates as appointed by you at Police National Headquarters? None! Just do this and the public will know who is telling the truth. Is not that we don’t have all these details, we can inform the public as well.
*A GUY cut off his girlfriend’s throat and gets bail after few months. He paid N$3 000. A man stole 15 cattle in 2008 and he is jailed ever since without any bail. Members of the President’s motorcade are driving motorists off the highways without warning while they are with the President and people are dying. Why are we not hearing about such incidents in other countries? Revise the Namibian law please and the President must call his drivers to order when they drive amongst other road users otherwise let the public be informed about the routes and time of his trips so that we can pull off. – Survivor of such drive off.
*OTAVI Town Council, we want to know what happened to the sewerage pipes in Otavi? You better make a plan before we take action. Take serious note on this matter.
*PRESIDENT Hifikepunye Pohamba has spoken, corruption must be rooted out of our country. Thank you Mr President. Namibians have listened and have now declared war against corruption.
*WHY fight decent men and husbands while Lazarus Shaduka and the rest are enjoying extra marital sex elsewhere. The motive is fine but the approach is misdirected.
*THE Chinese bursary saga is corruption at the highest level. Mr President and other government officials, tell the nation the truth. That is a form of corruption as well.
*WHY does government continue to ignore competant, qualified and mature professionals from the regions when it appoints boards of directors of SOEs and other government institutions? As a result, important boards are now composed of and chaired by too young, inexperienced and sometimes incompetent folks, who are often members of more than one board, as long as they are from Windhoek. Mr President and Mr PM please look beyond Windhoek next time you appoint. People in the regions are just as capable.
*ARE former Heads of States entitled to privileges accorded to incumbent Heads of States, even to the extent of blocking normal traffic flow when travelling? Are they not common citizens just like anybody else after their terms of offices?
*IN the wisdom of those who are fighting to do away with traditional or tribal authorities, will this automatically kill tribes, cultures and traditions? Mozambique, Tanzania and Zambia still have tribal leaders.
*Ministry of Transport please help us with the construction of the gravel road between Epembe and Omuhongo, Ohangwena Region. We de-bushed and uprooted trees with our own hands from the site for over 15 years now but nothing has been done yet. What else should we do? We are thankful for the construction of the clinic at Omuhongo and for supplying electricity there, but what happened to the road then?
