Food For Thought
*THE slogan ‘One Namibia One Nation’ is meaningless as long as Namibia and its abundant riches belongs to the elite, their families and the well-connected. This is not what Namibians sacrificed their lives for comrades, forget about Vision 2030.
Bouquets and Brickbats
*TJEKERO Tweya you said Namibians are dumb for not thinking outside the box, stop being childish and do something worthwhile for the salary we pay you.
*SWAPO Women’s League, is sleeping on your stomachs for a month or three months really the solution to gender based violence? Is this call directed to married women or the single ones as well? The solution is unity among yourselves, some of you leaders are the architects of disunity in the party and now you want to blame it on others.
*INSPECTOR General Sebastian Ndeitunga you sought to condemn land seeking (corruption) but looking at what happened recently, it is seriously you being the driving force of a corrupt sphere. Next time please read the manual and see after how many years a Police Officer with a qualification, be it a B Tech, BA or National Diploma from a recognised institution must be promoted and to which rank. You are forcing members to quit due to lack of recognition instead you have unqualified officers in offices due to name prints.
*MADAME Laura McLeod-Katjirua, I fully understand your frustration with rape which is the most inhumane crime but very rampant in Namibia nowadays. However telling all women to abstain from sex and sleep on their stomachs for three months or more may bring its fair share of problems to happy marital homes and stable relationships where sex is consensual. Not all of us rape women, let alone our spouses and partners. There are some good and respectful men out there. We should not be punished by denying us sex for other’s crimes.
*RESPONDING to the SMS of the day on 13 May, does the writer suggest that “black people at the front counter” are generally incapable of rendering great service? Certainly the wrong message.
*AS far as I’m concerned, Harold Ochurub would have played for the Brave Warriors by now. That is if he was playing for African Stars or one of the Windhoek teams.
*INSPECTOR General of the Namibian Police and the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Safety and Security, why are there still a lot of members who joined the force in 1990 but still hold the rank of constable? Imagine your members having served all those years without promotion. We want you to know that we are sick and tired of that, if you are not happy with old police officers please give us our pension so that we can go home. We are hardworking members but you are demoralising us. Please take note, and visit the regions and tell us. – From old Police Officers.
*I OPENED a case at Wanaheda Police Station four weeks ago but up to now I have not heard anything from them. I called them myself last week and asked who was dealing with my case and how far he or she was with the investigation? Inspector General Sebastian Ndeitunga tell me where else can I go for help if the police can’t help me?
*PAULUS Noah, you dropped the probe into Chinese bursaries awarded to high ranking officials because you do not get answers from the embassy? I am shocked, to say the least.
*PRESIDENT Hifikepunye Pohamba and company, the majority of those who fought physically on the battle-field are ageing and dying as paupers, whilst you are living in luxury. Please revisit your self-enrichment scheme and share the wealth with the masses.
*I THINK that the Kwanyamas should examine themselves carving other people’s areas secretly for their kingdom to expand while crying foul. Before independence they did that in Uukwambi and now in Ondonga, elsewhere like Onadjadja, Okalongo, Ekoka, Uukwangali etc. Why can’t the other tribes in northern Namibia do the same to them?
*THE Police Officer who is saying that all is well in NamPol must be forgiven for he does not know what he is speaking about due to too much S&T allowances allocated to him. He is a superior while we are inferiors. It’s good.
*I CAN’T understand that a man who lives under the grace of God forbids God’s word to be taught in Namibian schools. Are we becoming mad in Namibia? God Please help Namibia.
*DEFENCE and police, your men in uniform are not professional, they seek cash loans with dirty uniforms, they even look weak and demoralised. Please Prime Minister help them.
*IT IS shameful for a person to speak on the strength of temporary and fully pumped stomachs with purchased loyalty, to become a spokesperson of an obviously oppressive ways of doing things. Talking to a man dying of hunger in poverty in a psychological war. From which ever tribe you are, please take note that there is also tribalism between men and women in the police force which we detest. That is tribalism like any tribalism. Let the Inspector General of the Namibian Police, Sebastian Ndeitunga publicise his head office directorates and the names of those in charge, allocation of senior positions created. Let us look at the allocation of Regional Command positions. Look at the general command positions. We never insult anyone but we are telling the truth. Now, you come in and refer to us as inferior, we are inferior for now, yes, that is how you people always think about us. We are of the view that General Lucas Hangula was better because he was respected in the force by the majority. Please eat with them and don’t provoke us. We also know who you are. We don’t hide our identity. All we are saying is, we are suffering. If you don’t suffer, why don’t you just enjoy your good life, eat, sleep and keep quiet. No one will stop us from attaining even your freedom for you because you sound as if you are not free.
*N9559W is a Mercedes Benz, how could you proceed on red robot although you indicated Learner (L) sign? Don’t do that again. It happened on Monday morning at a Grootfontein robot.
*ALBERTUS Aochamub, are you aware that all the electrical bulbs on the Enyana-Okongo NBC tower are off? It is apparently not safe especially for aircraft during the night as they might accidentally crash into the tower. It has been three months now and it seems nobody cares. – Concerned Enyana resident.
*I DON’T understand why people say they don’t know what religion will be taught. It’s a fact, Namibia is a Christian country and has always been. Let us check our calenders to see which religion we fall under. I have not seen any Muslim holiday in Namibia. We can’t afford to lose who we are just because a small number of people decided to be Muslim or Buddhist. The majority still rules. God bless Namibia.
*TO the person who suggested that traffic fines be reduced because people cannot afford them, no wonder Tshekero Tweya is calling Namibians stupid. Fines are not there as a way to collect money. It’s punishment for defiance of traffic rules. Pay up or go to jail!
*MUNICIPAL bus number 549, please keep left and pass right. Thank you!
*TO the people complaining about playing a lot but never winning anything with Moola Mobile. Please know that this is gambling and a win isn’t guaranteed regardless of how many times you play. The winners are chosen by probability and randomised equation. The solution is simple, just stop gambling!
*MOOLA Mobile stop robbing the nation with your competition. We want live draws on Moola Bonanza. N$200 000 is a lot of money.
*MOOLA Mobile make your Moola Bonanza draw live. You are making a lot of money but your draw is not fair. If you can’t make the live draw, stop your competition.
*SWAPO you failed the people of Onesi. After 23 years, no development in Onesi. We received a star (meteorite) from God now you took our star! We want our star back please.
*COMPETITIONS, don’t we have something like a Competitions Act in Namibia? Companies like Moola Mobile and Namibian Breweries Ltd are robbing the nation with their closed-doors draws. Why can’t they make these big draws live on TV? They are just selecting their families, lovers and friends. Corruption.
