SMSes for Thursday 16 May 2013

SMS Of The Day *NEXT week school will start. Can you please prepare your kids physically, emotionally and socially. Revise the school-class rules before Tuesday. We are signing letters from the Ministry every time saying that we will not touch or shout at your children when they misbehave. Please do your part. Most of the children who behave well at home do the same at school and they are the ones performing well. We are tired of trying strategies to keep your kids quiet. We want to teach not to shout, keep quiet!

Food For Thought
*WHY is the drought disaster only addressed in terms of livestock losses? What about the crop failure disaster? The majority of farmers in the north will have no food in a couple of months. When is starvation because of the drought going to be addressed?

Bouquets And Brickbats
*CAN someone advise the nation when the tax relief introduced by Finance Minister Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila will be implemented?

*WHAT’S the Internal Investigations Department (IID) of NamPol doing to address the daily insults and malicious character assassination attempts directed against the Inspector General by disgruntled Police Officers who do not have  the interests of the nation at heart and have vowed to tarnish the image of the force despite the Code of Conduct they signed which punishes such behaviour, are the IID incompetent or are they part of the campaign?

*KATIMA Mulilo Home Affairs, get serious with our passports. I applied for my  passport in February but until now I have not received my passport yet. Why?

*WHAT N$9-million for Mali? Why are we not sending our soldiers what is wrong with sending troops? Why are there soldiers, why do we have a Defence Force that does nothing but its members get paid every month?

*I URGE the ACC, Prosecutor General and the Attorney General to reopen the case of the 12 planes that breached the national security of this country by landing without following proper procedures. A fine of N$400 is an insult to the Namibian nation, while traffic offenders are fined more than N$2 500. Investigate the Prosecutor and the Magistrate.

*INSPECTOR General Sebastian Ndeitunga, our families must go to sleep with empty stomachs sometimes because we use our last cents to upgrade ourselves. The police force is not paying for our studies. The Regional Commanders are only recommending their people based on favouritism and nepotism. We have diplomas and degrees but we are not considered for promotion. Ninety eight percent of the  Regional Commanders and their deputies do not have any qualifications, but they were promoted. Please Mr President look into this matter. The Inspector General is advised wrongly, because his commanders are not qualified.

*I JUST filled in a questionnaire at the FNB Branch in Klein Windhoek. One of the questions was if you are white, coloured or black. FNB really?

*DEFENCE Minister Nahas Angula, tell us why your ministry does not acknowledge  those people who spend their time studying, even using their money but upon finishing they don’t receive anything in return for the money they spent in educational institutions. Please Minister do something regarding this issue.

*MINISTER of Safety and Security, when are you going to apply a danger allowance for all members in the force, or do you want to do it whenever you hear that a police officer was killed on duty by criminals? Stop ignoring the welfare of members please.

*IT’S true, how on earth can you grant bail to a person who slit his girlfriend’s throat? Taking somebody’s life is a very serious offence. Why are those who steal cattle not granted bail?

*TRIBALISTS are trying to fight clean where it doesn’t exist. What is in the mind of those labelled as tribalist is merely to protect the haves who will grab all from the have nots, shame.

*VISION 2030 is a fool’s paradise. The Minister of Gender Equality and Child Welfare must be applauded for her honesty. She told the Children’s Parliamentarians that Vision 2030 was a paradise created for the youth by their elders. That means it is a trick used by the elders to make the youth tighten their belts while waiting to die and go to heaven, while the elders themselves are having a feast and are getting fat right now.

*Hilda Haipinge, you are stirring a pot best left unstirred. Your racist remarks, not to mention a wholly racist performance at the Baobab National Heritage site under the pretence of ‘culture’ is doing racial reconciliation in Namibia no favours.

*DOES the President hold any power to give directives at certain times or is he just an office occupant? There are certain matters that may at times needs his intervention, but he can’t pronounce himself.

*SHAME on you Namibia. No N$30 000 for an operation for the baby who was born without eye sockets but N$9-million is available for Mali. I wonder what former President Fidel Castro thinks of us when he hears such contradictions from the Land of the Brave.

*STANDARD Bank management make sure that your service ‘My Updates’ reports when money is deposited in our accounts. We visited our nearest branches in the Oshana Region but no changes have been done. Please make improvements on this service.

*MOOLA Mobile please stop sending me SMSes in the morning. I do not want to play your game anymore and I am on leave I want to sleep and rest.

*DEAR Minister of Finance, at least tell us how far you are with our regrading and the tax relief! Very frustrated government employee.

*METEORITE in Onesi. I blame myself for going there. There is no development in Onesi, no banks and no electricity. Maybe our PM Hage Geingob can bring changes. I was shocked.

*PRESIDENT Hifikepunye Pohamba has spoken out against corruption. Just like the last time and the time before that. Call me when he shows signs of actually doing something.

*I COULD not imagine what I was about to witness on Monday this week at Ongwediva main road near the show grounds at about 12h00. The life of our State President was about to be compromised. Was it our community ignorance or was it police incompetency in handling a convoy? Shame.

*FELLOW Namibians and our international friends, I challenge each one of us to say or write (share) positive experiences in our beautiful country. The power of positive thoughts, words and actions will assist in the behaviour of all, whether socially, financially, economically or spiritually. The challenges we are facing can be overcome if all of us make a concerted effort to be positive.

*POLICE Public Relations, it is also high time that you speak out and deal with these errant and hostile Police Officers who are breaching the Code of Conduct by insulting the Inspector General publicly. We cannot trust them with future leadership because they don’t have integrity and are not loyal to the force at all. Police internal arrangements are security issues and can just not be dished out as they wish to suit their self-centredness.

*CITY of Windhoek Funeral Division, who supervises your grave diggers? We struggled for more than two hours to perfectly bury our loved ones.

*I HATE mediocrity, we cannot compare the number of promotions under the current leadership with the previous one. Lets be frank, under Sebastian Ndeitunga’s leadership there is more inclusiveness, be it tribe or gender. It is even a blatant lie to say he doesn’t enjoy respect from the majority of members. Your group is responsible for planting seeds of division at every available opportunity. Pack your backs and go if you claim to be so experienced and skilled. General Ndeitunga, we stand solidly behind you.

*CITY of Windhoek, please keep your eye on the robots, especially at the corner of  Robert Mugabe Avenue and Uhland Street, some are not functioning.

*AS a citizen I tried to assist the police with a theft investigation and realised that they really need the public’s assistance to succeed. Maybe there should be rewards for information given on murders, rapes, corruption and bribery, etc. This information could save the state money and such cases could be solved more rapidly and effectively. Help the police and you help the nation.

*TAXI drivers think they own the roads, they do as they wish. It’s so frustrating, the traffic officers seem to have given up the battle because taxi drivers will turn and stop in the middle of the road in the presence of police. Taxi drivers make life unbearable for other road users, please let’s do something before it’s too late.

*WE call upon all the relevant structures of the state and the government, all recognised leaders in the Republic of Namibia, all academics and scholars, non-governmental organisations and institutions, the entire international community, all peace loving Namibians, world police associations and organisations, show your interest in the suffering of your police men and women. You see them on the streets daily, they are your children. Inspector General of NamPol Sebastian Ndeitunga has allowed our suffering to go on for too long.

*WHEN is the civil servants tax reduction going to be effective? It was announced by the Minister of Finance that civil servants tax will be reduced, starting 1 April but up to date no tax reduction has been implemented. Please government, we the civil servants want the tax to be introduced so that at least some money will come back to our pockets. How long does it take for a policy to be implemented?

*STANDARD Bank, Walvis Bay, why on earth can you send our home-loan payments to Windhoek first and then to various branches. We are from the Walvis Bay branch and we pay our accounts on time but it’s reflected on our home-loan accounts as in arrears. These bad records reflect on us, please do something. I paid on 26 April 2013 but still now my payment isn’t reflecting on my home-loan account.

*WHAT gives other people the right to think that some sports belong to them? Rugby has been played in Africa for ages only in a different form that’s why countries like Kenya, Zimbabwe etc, can easily beat us. Wake up from the apartheid slumber and see the truth.

Health

*MINISTER of Education, why do you like to recruit people with 24 points and an E in English due to the shortage of teachers, but you don’t allow us to go for further studies with that symbol?

In and around the Regions
*MUNICIPALITY of Otjiwarongo, you are robbing the community by reducing water units. Someone from the Ministry of Local Government should please intervene, water is life. Why should you deny this right to the poor community shame on you. – Concerned ratepayer.

*NHE Walvis Bay, how far are you with the construction of houses at Swakopmund? Every time you go and enquire you are told Michael is not there.

*NABTA president, why do you accept Etilyasa taxis drivers in Okahao-Ongandjera, in the Omusati Region to change the fees from N$11 to N$15, while that doesn’t apply for all taxis in the country? We want a universal fee as we are all in  one country.
