Food For Thought
“CEO suspended for doing his work”! Due to “his uncompromising and strict financial management policies (sic), he has made enemies” - New Era. If this article does not give you the horrible shivers, then this nation is heading for disaster.

*I FULLY support views expressed by most citizens that the four O-regions are a decisive factor for Swapo in the country’s national elections. This then translates into peace, harmony and stability.
*A TIP for Keetmanshoop municipality: Whenever a grader is grading your dusty roads please allow the Water Bowser to water the roads in the location.
*SIMPLE advice to NBC viewers: Never expect the NBC to broadcast local soccer live. They don’t even broadcast a single Brave Warriors or NPL match, but they broadcast EPL every Saturday live. Did the complaints bring any change? Fellow citizens, nothing has changed.
*HOW on earth does Rino Muranda and his crew hold a gala dinner for Otavi-Expo in Otjiwarongo? I thought the idea for the expo was to expose and market what Otavi has to offer or is a gala dinner too good to be held in Otavi?
*ONHELEIWA Community in the Omusati Region deserves to benefit from the delimitation process to become a constituency, because Etayi is too far. We suffered during the armed struggle but we are left behind not to mention the lack of service delivery. We intend to turn our place into a settlement. That would only be possible if we get assistance.
*INDEED, Namibia celebrated the 23 years of poverty. Let the political leaders of Namibia celebrate the occasion, because they own magnificent mansions, elegant cars, they have three to four farms, bursaries for their children to study abroad, free travel abroad and their fat salaries. Wouldn’t you celebrate for all this? I would. But for the the poor masses, including the struggle kids, who are landless and kept languishing in severe poverty and who are forced to share food with cats, dogs and birds at dump sites after 23 years of independence, there is definitely nothing to celebrate. Politicians must therefore admit that they have failed the nation.
*TRUSTCO is deducting money from my salary and I never registered with them. Imagine if they deduct money from many employees in government – they would surely make a lot of money. It borders on fraud and needs to be investigated. People must scrutinise their payslips properly. ACC, please look into this.
*MINISTER of safety and security, we need a police station at Berg Aukas. Our lives are in danger. Students of Berg Aukas drink and smoke too much.
*I TOTALLY agree with the residents of Uis about The Namclay Bricks & Pavers, causing air pollution. That place releases a cloud of black smoke and it smells very bad. You wouldn’t walk by without holding your nose closed.
*THE country-wide strike at Social Security Commission Offices is getting out of hand and the ones suffering are the clients. To solve the dispute amicably an urgent intervention by the government is needed because the board and management of the SSC have failed to solve the problems of the employees.
*WHY is the government not allowing every ministry to build houses for their employees? We are suffering because of a lack of accommodation, especially the young ones who have recently entered the labour market. Renting a place is too expensive. Please build houses that we can afford.
*MINISTER Richard Kamwi, can you please tell all the medical doctors and dentists that they must respect their employees. Firstly, they don’t want to pay overtime and we are working after hours. Secondly, they can call you during your free time to come and work, but they won’t pay you for that. Some are even chasing people from work for a single mistake. We are all human beings and can make mistakes. We also need money, just like them. Please minister, do something.
*PLEASE allow me to draw the attention of the Roads Authority to the bad condition of the road between Swakopmund and Walvis Bay. It causes major accidents and traffic jams. As a frequent user of this road, it is not wide enough for the use of excessive traffic which it currently accommodates. I hope the authorities will take the necessary steps to ensure our safety on this road.
*WE are fortunate to be able to talk about sex with our teenagers. Thanks that it’s no longer a taboo. Let me use the privilege to advise the teenage girls. Our daughters engage themselves in sexual activities at an early age and when they reach the stage to marry they cannot offer their husband something better. That causes marriages to break very quickly. Please young girls, take care of yourself.
*IT IS unacceptable that the Ukwangali chief sold the land and even forced villagers to vacate their places for self-enrichment. We are facing big problems in this country. The Anti-Corruption Commission is only concentrating on poor people and top officials in government get away with murder.
*Thank you InterCape for extending your routes to the northern part of Namibia. But I have a problem with your departure and arrival times. Can’t you change your departure time from Windhoek to morning hours so that we arrive early on the other side, because we sill have to hike further to reach our destinations.
*CAN we get clarity on the policy of the SME Bank that says: “If you borrow money you only have a year to pay the amount back”. How is that possible?
*I AM urgently looking for a mathematics teacher to teach a Grade 9 learner in the afternoon. Contact me at 0811287232.
*THE Namibian Defence Force, we have seen commanding officers of units being reshuffled why is 12 Artillery Regiment at Oamites still being commanded by the same person for over 10 years? Many units are eating quality food such as All Gold tomato sauce, Tastic rice, Halls juice, just to name a few. At Oamites, we eat poor quality food. In this unit, we don’t get individual promotions unless it’s a mass promotion in the unit. This unit don’t even send women for office cadet. We only have one woman as a captain. We are tired and losing moral every day.
Service Please
*ARE the employees of the The Namibian Training Authority (NTA) asleep? How on earth does it take six months or a year to print and sent out our trade test certificates. We are tired of waiting and companies are asking our certificates. You are making our NIMT a failure.
Sport
*NAMIBIA Football Association, I want you to tell the nation why coach Ali Akan don’t deserve a chance to be at the helm of the national team? Look at Safa. After years of over looking coach Gordon Igesund who, like Akan, has won domestic football titles with different teams. Safa has realised that a worthy local coach is the answer to the resurrection of the game. The Super Eagles of Nigeria also proved it. The best coach to assume the reigns and to qualify for Brazil 2014 is undoubtedly Egberd Jalal Akan. Give the man the chance.
Labour
*PRIME Minister and Minister of Finance. This message concerns the long serving customs and excise officers, who have been working for the ministry for 15 to 23 years without being promoted. During those years promotions were very slow in the directorate of customs. Only those with diplomas are promoted? We have gained vast experience over the years but we are being overlooked. Some of us received training in various ways, even outside the country. With our hard work, dedication and commitment we developed this ministry to the level where it is today. Give us promotions and certificates for long service. We are also law enforcement agents, like NamPol, NDF and others.
*I WOULD like to request the Ministry of Defence to look into the salary structure of the soldiers. Some people in the army are doing most of the work but those in top positions (the big fish) are well cared for while they are just sitting in their offices. Some of us are studying part time and have to pay for the course. We end up going to Letshego. Please Prime Minister, look into this.
Health
*RICHARD Kamwi, Why is the nurses home only accommodating nurses who have or had a loan from the ministry of health and not NSFAF?
Education
*ERONGO Regional Officer, are you aware that the SI !Gobs Secondary School in Omaruru does not have geography and history teachers for Grade 8 since January? There are also other issues to be addressed such as school fees and the condition of the school hostel.
*MINISTER of Education, why does the Oshana educational regional office not work like other regions? We graduated last year, but our certificates are not yet evaluated. Why?
