Food for Thought
*HOW can someone applaud the six Pakistanis who killed a defenseless criminal who was tied up? It’s for those reasons that foreigners can do what they want in Namibia while we have to abide by their rules in their countries. The six should be locked up without an option of bail or else everybody will start doing the same! Shame on the writer of that SMS if it were your son/brother/sister/husband/wife would you celebrate or cry? Prosecutor General, please make sure you protect us!
*NAMIBIANS should stop demanding jobs from the government. Start empowering yourselves! This is what we call entrepreneurship. Governments don’t create jobs, they create favourable conditions for investors. With this said I’m not condoning corrupt behaviour.
Brickbats And Bouquet
*WE, the workers of Cadilu Fishing have a problem with Alexander Forbes pension fund. They say we can apply for a loan from the pension fund but when we apply our documents get lost in their Windhoek office. When we call their office to enquire, their telephone remains unanswered.
*THE Minister Of Veterans Affairs, Nickey Iyambo, you made it clear to the so called ‘struggle children’ that there are no special children in Namibia. They must go and look for jobs themselves like other children in Namibian.
*CONGRATULATIONS, Bennies Park Take Aways. Your customer service is outstanding. You laugh and make jokes with customers. God bless you.
n*THE ‘struggle children’ must understand that all of us (children) were born during the time of liberation struggle, but some of us are employed based on our qualifications which we acquired after independence. What were you doing all these years? You came to Namibia while some of you were four years old. We sent you to school but you were just playing around without thinking about your future.
*IT is really shocking to see the proposed salary structures for teachers with huge differences between HoD’s and teachers. We, the teacher are the ones working. Ministry Of Education must revoke the new structures or face the music.
*CENORED Khorixas is not professional. Electricians don’t know how to handle customers. People suffer for days because of no electricity. If there is a problem, they just switch off the power.
*I AM all for Namibian products but quality is highly important. Namibian chicken is dirty and badly cut. Some pieces have loads of feathers still attached. Even if your chicken is cheaper, I’d rather go for the imported chicken as their standard of quality is much higher. What about our consumer rights, if government force us to buy your chicken?
*IT is outrageous if not ridiculous to outsource the regrading of civil servants’ salaries to a British company. Not to mention the hefty perks of the public office bearers. Who is fooling who? Get real please.
*I WANT the Minister to visit the Outapi Home Affairs office. We want our documents to be processed. Until when are we to wait for our documents? Vakwetu!
*I WOULD like to request Moola Bonanza to come up with a live draw because the current method they’re using doesn’t convince us that they are fair. I remember when I spent N$460 twice and not once did I qualify but they keep on encouraging you to play more as the chances are good for you to be selected. We are always losing our money in this competition despite its random selection criteria. Please come up with alternative method before we get fed-up.
*MAYBE I am one of the lost Namibian sons. I find the parliamentary sessions rather boring. Please discuss issues that affect people on the ground.
*HARRY Simon must let fresh grass grow. Fortune knocks once on a man’s door. Your name belongs in the dustbin of history.
*VIRGIN Active management in Windhoek, could you kindly inform us why we pay you so much money per month, yet we don’t receive the services to justify this. The saunas and steam rooms are forever broken. You don’t have a back-up generator in case it rains. Instead, your unprofessional staff chase us out like we are trespassing. Please get your act together.
*THANK you Nicky Iiyambo for setting the record straight about the exile children.
*STANDARD Bank home loans, your service sucks! The people that you have at Town Square need customer and time managent training. Please take care of your customers We bring in the money!
*WELL done Gideon Nasilowksi for completing in the 2,1 km Pointbreak swim. Great example for all of us!
*I AM a fan of The Namibian newspaper but it’s embarrasing to see you publishing nonsense every time. Or is it really necesary to put dog eaters to shame? Leave them alone or help them out!
*IT’S very frustrating to learn that GRN still showers war veterans with anothr hefty N$200 000 on top of the N$50 000 cash that they recently chopped. This is being done while the masses literally suffer and starve, weeping and wailing due to the drought that hit the country. What is needed is to use that money to create jobs for unemployed.
*WINDHOEK Public Library toilets are very dirty on Saturdays. Please do something and in the meantime please give customer service to staff members.
Suggestion Box
*NBC, can you please remove that cartoon for TV License advertisement. Replace it with something good. That potato-like cartoon is very ugly and irritating and it makes me sick. Be creative, please.
*PARLIAMENTARIANS should learn to tolerate the ideas of other people regardless of their political affiliation and make good use of their ideas. Every proposal made by the opposition parties is considered bad. After all, we are discussing and debating on issues affecting Namibia.
Politics
*TO the Libyan Charge D’Affairs: if you want the GRN to recognise Libya then you must put to trial the perpetrators of Gaddafi’s barbaric murder and you must address your continued racist treatment of African migrants. Last time I checked Libya is on the African continent not outside.
Labour
*I WANT to know if the person who is running the National Youth Service security is a human being? That person is exploiting the workers. How can a shift begin at 04h00 until 21h00? The people don’t even get off duty at the end of the month but are earning N$1 350. Why is this company not using the same system like other security companies? National Youth Services is a government owned company but doesn’t pay it’s employees a decent salary.
*WILL the government tell us (the civil servants) when we can expect our back pay on housing and transport allowance? We have been waiting patiently since November 2012.
*I WANT to ask to the Ministry of Defence if it is fair that something stolen from a toilet is to be paid by some soldiers who are using that toilet? Fifty soldiers were forced to pay N$14 without even a receipt.
*WHERE is the ACC? The Minister of Defence gets a premier’s salary. No wonder we are poor. God save our country.
Health
*WHAT a day I had in Windhoek. Services are made impossible by the staff at clinics. I arrived at Khomasdal Clinic and was referred to another clinic as they were full. Afterwards, I went to Donkerhoek Clinic which was also full. I was at last attended to at Robert Mugabe Clinic. Please, don’t make it impossible for patients to receive service.
Education
*MINISTER Of Education, what is happening at the Heroes Private School in Ondangwa? Learners are made to buy a ream with 500 papers each term while learners don’t even carry 100 copies per term. Please help us out here David Namwandi. It was announced at the parents meeting but none of the parents agreed with the idea. We are really suffering. 1 500 papers are just too much per learner. Bail us out please.
*WHERE is the suggestion box at Unam main campus? Some lecturers are very rude. Instead of encouraging or motivating students, they criticise and embarrass the students in front of others. I refer to the Fundamentals of English language studies lecturer at X127 on March 11 and 12. If we (students) knew English already, we would probably not have come to Unam to be taught, because he/she who knows and speaks English fluently is called stupid. Please give us time and assist us. I almost gave up and dropped out.
*UNIVERSITY of Namibia is robbing us (students) of our money. They make us pay N$40 for original proof of registration and N$80 for academic records. They don’t even give us the original documents at first. It is reasonable to ask for payment when we lose documents. They just want us to buy original documents. They know they will make money because institutions that provide loans and sponsors for our tertiary education want original documents or at least Unam’s stamp. They refuse to put a Unam stamp on documents, telling the students to buy original documents. Students have the right to get their original documents without payment. Students pay a considerable amount of money to register for the subjects that appear on those documents. We need to save money for transport and textbooks.
*HOW can the school board of Mweshipandeka High School evict learners from the school hostel without informing the parents? Is this done in accordance with the rules? Parents never send their children to break the rules at the school rules. Please stop punishing the parents.
*MINISTER Of Education, we knew that there would be conflict of interest when you were appointed as Minister of Education. Is that why you are holding back loans for students studying abroad? Do you want all of us to go to IUM? Students at IUM are accepted with 20 points or less but they all get study loans. It all borders on corruption.
*NANTU, you let us down last year when we were striking. Now it is your turn to prove to the teachers that they can still rely on you. Fight for the experienced teachers in this regrading issue. There is no benefit for us. HOD’s salaries is now higher than ours with N$8 000. This is completely unacceptable.
*EXPERIENCED teachers will only get less than N$900 salary difference in the new regrading system, while principals and HODs will get half of their salaries. This is unfair. Learners don’t pass because of principals or HODs, but through the efforts of teachers.
*THE decision by Education Permanent Secretary not to allow schools to make arrangements for March 22, is not fair. He should reconsider his decision because some schools have already worked on Saturdays to compensate for that day.
*CAN the Ministry of Education introduce a system of putting Grade 12 symbols on certificates of upgraded subjects?
*MINISTER Of Education, please come to the rescue of Outjo Secondary School. The school is run like a private farm. No financial reports, no copy machine, no sport equipment, and there is no school vehicle.
*MINISTRY of Education, we a suffering at IOL. We registered for a pre-primary course in February 2012 but till now we are not given material for some subjects. Imagine, a year passed. Why did government aprove this institution if they don’t have materials. They don’t care. They only want our money.
*DAVID Namwandi, when are the names of students who were granted loans coming out?
*I THINK it’s high time that the Ministry of Education introduce independent hostel supervisors in boarding schools to supervise learners because this supervision by teachers and other hostel workers is a burden which leads to low performances in schools. It will also create employment for others like ‘struggle kids’!

*NO work no vote? What a joke! No wonder the current government does not feel any pressure to address unemployment. Namibians wake up, not voting does not mean that the ruling party will lose power. The party with the majority will rule the country for five years. If the ruling party is not serving your interest, join the opposition party because you share the same cry!
