Food For Thought
*MY gosh! Why is GRN still waiting to start action against the killings in Namibian? What are you waiting for, stand up and do something serious agains the killings, stop relaxing in parliament and start acting.
*IT was good that Ngamane Karuaihe-Upi reminded us on the importance of Women’s Day. But we must take care not to over emphasise the equality of men and women and not fall in the trap of gender mainstreaming that ignores biological and mental contrasts between women and men absolutely. Thus, women and men have not only common talents but also different talents in various spheres of live. This is evident in the relations between women, men and children in a family. The family is the important base of a people. We may not destroy that.
n FIVE prominent Swapo figures in a private hospital? Why do they not go to the state hospitals and experience what they expect the rest of us to go through on a daily basis.
*DEAR Vilbard Uusiku. I started my business with a black partner. He is very intelligent and capable. He was however very unwilling to work and left most of the long hard hours stuff for me to do. At one stage I could not take it anymore. I do 90% of the work and he got 50% of the profit. I had to buy him out or we would both go bankrupt. My company is now white owned. Please add my name to the list of dragons who are living in the wrong age... until discrimination against minorities ends one day.

*I WANT to know, why is the houses so expensive in Namibia? You cannot believe, some people are selling erven for N$1,1 million. Really it can’t be.
*‘UNAM Dialogue’ programme has no vision and does not have Unam at heart. Instead of being creatively addressing student issues, creating awareness with students, lectures and management, they are discussing topics that are suitable for ‘Talk of the Nation’.
*THE entire regrading exercise is neo-colonialism and self enrichment. Do cleaners in Europe earn that little? Pilots and lawyers also earn a lot of money. Sies tog.
*DOES Air Namibia pay landing or parking fees to Namibia Airports Company? If yes, why can’t the particular functions of Namibia Airports Company be transferred to Air Namibia. That will enable them to collect money from all other airport users.
*I WONDER what is wrong with some people. They are enjoying dogs in various ways.
*THE new salary structures will only benefit new teachers. As for me who has been teaching for 20 years it will not make any difference. Concerned teacher.
*THOSE robbers who attempted to rob the Pakistanis lost their rights the very moment they entered the businessmen’s property. They left them outside. Remember, they were armed and if they have not been overpowered they could have killed them and ran away with their money. So, stop feeling sorry for the criminals and robbers. They deserve it. I personally would not protect my criminal brother or son or relative. If he looks for it, then he should get it. Period! Say no to crime!
*I WONDER whether Standard Bank management is listening to the complaints coming from their clients. Your Home Loan Department is equal to mediocrity. Please hear the cry of your customers. The attitude of your staff at the reception leaves much to be desired.
*THE tender to submit quotations for the provision of the furniture at the finance ministry was advertised four days before it’s closed (four days before the due date). The document is so big. Approximately 100 pages and yet the specifications of what is needed is not clear. I smell foul play here. ACC please investigate.
*KAZEMBIRE Vezemburuka, please invite Timotheus Ekandjo on ‘1On1’ so that we could hear from the horse’s mouth how he rose to stardom in the business fraternity and the corporate fore-front at such a young age!
*THERE is a big problem at Wanaheda Police Station. We want to know why we can’t provide our families with food during the week, while Angolans locked up there receive food from their families. Sometimes when you take food for them on Sundays some of the foodstuffs are not allowed inside, whereas some of our family members are on medication and have doctors certificates to show what they should eat and what not. We want feedback from the Ministry of Safety and Security.
*TO all robbers in Namibia get a honest job. Earn a living because stealing is no way out. You will get arrested one time or the other. You are so handy at stealing. Make use of your hands to create something good for your fellow man. Brother, just think about sitting in jail for robbery, murder or rape. Think very carefully.
*TO the Pakistani people who overpowered their robbers to be, job well done! I wish that Namibians follow the same procedure to stop crime in this country. Stand up and protect your belongings it cost a lot of hard earned cash just for any robber to take what ever he wants.
*‘BIG Brother’ is an old show that was canceled in the UK and America and in some other countries there is now interesting reality shows like ‘Bachelorette’, ‘The Real Housewives’ or other famous families shows. I don’t support shows that exploit people while cashing in on money from millions of rating. Stop that meaningless show.
*PEOPLE are just talking more about salary gaps and nobody is talking about income tax gaps. For the GRN to make it fair, it needs to use the same percentage when taxing people. For example: if you use the same per cent to tax a gross salary of N$10 000 and of N$20 000 respectively. A N$20 000 earner will be paying twice more tax than a N$10 000 earner.
*HUMAN faeces, waste paper, plastic litter all around Shilimela security camping site in Ondangwa. Very disgusting indeed. Shilimela, please build even one toilet for your hundreds of trainees camping near our houses and provide dustbins before you destroy our health. You really made this area unhygienic to the residents ever since the day you came to camp here.
*NO thank you. I will not allow myself to be lowered from my current Chief Development Planner position to that of a Senior Development Planner as proposed by the job evaluation and regrading consultants unless I maintain my current position. Period!
*MINISTRY of Justice the entrance to the High Court is daily turned into a ‘Kapana Take Away’. Please restore order and dignity to the High Court reception.
*RUNDU Beach is supposed to be an attractive place for visitors as well as for local residents. The place look vandalized and unattended even no kiosk where people could buy something while at the beach. Please town council rent out this place to the local business community.
*CAN somebody tell me how does Moola Mobile choose its winners because the winner on Wednesday March 13, played 15 times and I played 20 times. How now?
*HOW fair is Moola Mobile? The more you SMS the more your chance to win. But its just a sweet money making lie for their relatives. I SMS-ed over 50 times and someone who did that 15 times is a winner? Moola Mobile how fair are you?
*THE job evaluation, grading and pay policy for public servants is mainly being opposed by those selfish individuals who have been over paid all along. They were just too happy to get fat cheques every month whilst other equally educated and qualified public servants were getting peanuts. Why did they not have a problem with being over paid? Salaries are well aligned now they want to confuse the grading with politics. We must applaud the government for the grading. It’s a fair and just system linked to performance management (PMS).
*TRANSNAMIB passenger services, it’s 20h15. Exactly one hour later than scheduled departure time. There’s no coach on the siding and there’s no explanation from anyone regarding the delay. The few passengers who are still waiting at Walvis Bay station are not even sure that there will still be a train to Windhoek tonight. Some of us have commitments at our various destinations. Please, anyone at TransNamib. I dare you to respond because on average I make use of the train twice a week. This happens every week. We never depart on time and neither do we arrive on time. Ask anyone that makes use of TransNamib whether it be for commercial use or like me passenger services. Its the most unreliable mode of transport in the country. Fact! I dare you to prove me wrong.
*NAHAS Angula and President Hifikepunye Pohamba, is this not daylight robbery? Nahas Angula left the Office of Prime Minister last December, but he is still paid for it until now. He must pay back the government money from the month he left the office.
Suggestion Box
*JUST wandering what’s happening to the derailed containers of TransNamib. Can’t a school without enough classrooms use them as a library, girls or boys club, or even a counselling room? If any possibility prevails do contact 0812195746.
*APPEALING to fellow Namibians. Humbly asking donation of old jerseys or jackets or anything that could keep vulnerable school-going children warm for this approaching winter. Call 0812195746.
*I AM a fan of Parliamentary Report on NBC. I wonder whether Parliamentarians speeches are edited before they are tabled in Parliament? They are full of serious grammar and pronunciation mistakes. I suggest that Parliamentarians must undergoe short courses in English, please.
– Shando
Health
*RICHARD Kamwi, what are you doing? You have once again displayed a lack of leadership and accountability. You need to speak to your managers and then make an informed judgement. Further, you need to educate yourself on medical issues and challenges you failed to understand after many years at the helm. The public will always have an opinion and rightfully so. Complications in medicine do not always amount to negligence. You will do well to get an expert before jumping to conclusion. Lest we forget you are the custodian of the ministry of health. Work with your team and show strong leadership.
*THE Namibian government must reconsider the salary notch of pharmacist’s assistant. In reality, it was decreased. Give us the same salary as enrolled nurses. Can we all pharmacist’s assistant make ourselves heard please?
*NURSES and teachers equivalent comparable qualifications and works similar work loads, but big gap between their salary structures. Please equalise it.
Response to Previous SMSes
*TO the people who are supporting the armed robbers: I wonder if you would say the same if the Pakistanis were Namibian?
*MY advice to the person complaining about the NBC TV license potato cartoon. Simply switch off your television if you don’t like that part.
*HARRY Simon, never look back. Let them talk. They don’t know what they are saying. Your name will never go into the dustbin of history. You are amongst those who first raised the Namibian flag to the world. Fresh grass grow and get old it will never live fresh. Man, we still need you. Show them that an old lion is still a lion.
Labour
*WHERE is the justice in the country? I read an article in The Namibian about the retrenched workers from Airports Company. How come for twelve months someone is struggling to get his/her pension payout despite the so-called dispute and why are these people treated like vampires as if they survive from some human blood? If there is an ongoing dispute how come they don’t receive their salaries until the case is settled? Come on now Prime Minister, are we still in Namibia? I really pity these people and why is the whole nation quite about this issue? You see how companies are retrenching their employees.
*FRANS Kapofi should tell the nation how much the British consultants, who ill-advised him, were paid. We want transparency and after that, please hand in your resignation.
Education
*PLEASE leave David Namwandi alone. He is trying his level best, you already pressurised the late Abraham Iyambo with your unrealistic demands. Let the current Minister of Education do his work rather than linking him to IUM. Go to IUM for your refunds. Namibians should learn how to appreciate.
*DAVID Namwandi, if you want education to collapse under your watchful eye, then allow the selfish plan to go through with this regrading. Who will watch over the principals if inspectors of education are demoted to the level of HODs?
*PLEASE Augeikhas Primary School principal do immediate investigation to Grade 7 teachers giving only text book to the learners who perform well and lock outside the education of those who do not understand! Is this the new structure? If yes, when is their poor performances going to improve if they don’t access text books?
*I’M concerned about teachers who have set up a control test timetable. Yes, they did a great job but the problem is that they give us only 40 minutes whereby some of us don’t write fast and time is always limited. Please do something about it because those marks are needed at the end of the year. Thanks for your new changes.
*MINISTER of Education, please investigate Monitronics Success College. The future of Namibian children is on you.
*PLEASE Minister of Education, just help us parents in Namibia by giving us all the names of colleges which are not recommended by the Namibia Qualification Authorities. Because people are robbing us with the qualification of our children.
*I JUST want to wish the secretary of Kayec Trust in Ondangwa all the best. May God bless you with many more years you are a truly loving and caring person who has other people’s interests close to your heart. May you always be so helpful.
– Alex from Oluno
*WHY do schools in Walvis Bay recommend unqualified teachers while there are qualified people? Principals are giving false recommendations and lying to the inspector so that people who speak their language can get jobs yet they are not qualified. Please Director Awaseb, investigate this and if you need help, ask and I will avail myself.
*THE testing and licensing at Natis at Katima Mulilo is questionable. It leads to corruption. Test papers are marked and candidates are given results the following day. And it is not possible to check the mark they got in the test. No wonder other people have opted to go to other regions for a learner licence test.
