Food for Thought
*HIGH unemployment, poverty, and poor education are caused by our senior leaders. They decide weather a certain law should be implemented or not. Now many people in our country are affected by not introducing free primary education earlier in 1990. By now we could be have been a productive nation in terms of workforce in any industry.
Bouquets and Brickbats
*ARE our ministers above the law, and if not why can’t those suspected to have transgressed the law not be brought to justice? Was President Hifikepunye Pohamba serious when he said he will not tolerate any kind of corruption in his administration? If he is serious, then make them your first example.
*IT was so funny to read, “Hamba kahle Abraham” in one of our local daily newspapers. Really! I wonder if South Africans ever use our local languages in their daily newspapers. Come on Namibians! Let’s teach our youth that Namibian languages are cool too. In the same vein, it was good to read, “Enda po nawa Comrade Iyambo” in another daily newspaper.
*CYCLISTS, please be responsible and stop cycling in the middle of road for your safety! What happened to cycling in a single file? Traffic police, please help!
*NBC TV, please review your in-house guest list on ‘Good Morning Namibia’ and ‘Tupopyeni’. It is not educative to see the same faces every day because they are just repeating the same view points. Please get new guests so that we can get different opinions. This country is blessed with good inspiring leaders in any field.
*JUST not the best anymore! Seriously, the presentation skills of NBC National Radio presenters is wack. Send the two afternoon divas back to Omulunga radio. The ‘L’ and ‘R’ pronunciation is pathetic! There are good experienced presenters out there.
*FIFTEEN percent increase for politicians, eight percent increase for civil servants! Is it fair? Is it justified? Is it not discrimination? Namibia, where are we heading? If I was a politician, I would rather give the 15 percent to the ordinary civil servants. Are we politicians to serve our own interests or to serve the interest of the nation?
*DOES NBC have to fool us by means of threatening us with law-suits, jail-terms, and repossession of our TV sets if all we are viewing is nothing but the same old programmes every day? NBC directors, you better tune-up because you are boring.

Politics
*PETER Naholo made an interesting point that government should repay school fees paid by parents since independence. He made these remarks at an RDP rally in the Ohangwena Region. My question to him is; when he was a Swapo member for more than 10 years after independence, why didn’t he bring up the same topic and remind us of how government was stealing from the people? Enough with political hypocrisy! That’s why we need more Abraham Iyambos in this country.
Service Please
*PLEASE City of Windhoek, do something about the jobless guys and girls next to Pick n Pay in Khomasdal. It is a health risk! We cannot take it anymore.
*TELECOM Namibia management, everything is going down the drain. Start with tellers in Windhoek’s main branch, only two are operating and the other seven are closed. The following products are not available to the customers; Telecard 50, Telecard 20, Switch 10, Switch 20, and Switch 50.
*COULD the City Police please tell pedestrians in Katutura that roads are for cars. It is a nightmare to drive in the streets. You just have to pray not to hit someone. If you dare hoot, you will hear it. Could other drivers please comment.
*MINISTRY of Home Affairs recruit people who want to assist at the office. How on earth is the person just sitting at the counter doing nothing while many people are in the long line? This is happening in Outapi.
*WE want Old Mutual to make it clear who qualifies to get cash back. I’m also a member since 2003 but I did not get any thing. Please tell us!
*JOHN Mutorwa, the green scheme is not only for the Kavango Region. Roll it to other regions as well.
*DOES RCC consider doing something about the terrible condition of the C14 outside Walvis Bay? It has been years since the last levelling.
*WHAT is wrong with our government and City of Windhoek? Now they are only focusing on providing low cost housing instead of slicing the TIPEEG funds. The housing problem is not just a problem of low earners. Besides low cost is already being catered for by NHE, Build Together and the Shack Dwellers Association. Why not empower those instead of giving the same duty to municipalities? Where should we (the middle class) go? Don’t we matter in this country?
*NAMLIFE Namibia must send their workers for a customer service workshop. They provide poor services. They can give you different answers to the same question and it will take them two weeks to give you a value on your study policy and another five days to get your money. Namlife your service sucks!
Labour
*ADVICE: Please don’t make government useless. Requirements for government jobs have become simply marching. Education is no more needed. Government must consider making a reduction of the retirement age to 50/55 compulsory in order to pave the way for employment creation.
*DAVID Namwandi, why do you want teachers to stay at school after hours if there are no better salaries for them? Give them transport and housing allowances now.
*NAMIBRE is a parastatal with ten staff members who depend on consultants. Is management aware of the high unemployment rate in Namibia. It shows that you don’t care for your nation. Minister of Finance, you are not supposed to think twice. Fire the board and MD.
Education
*EROS Primary School principal and teachers, please focus on our children’s education rather than thinking of ways to make more money for the school now that we have free education. It’s February, nothing is written in their books, one wonders what the teachers are doing at school. We want quality education. Leave the money issues for GRN.
*TEACHERS teach ‘Namlish’ and not English. How can this be allowed? Many teachers cannot speak proper English but have the audacity to mark English papers. Why does government allow our standard to be dragged down like this?
In and from the Region
*ONGWEDIVA Town Council, how on earth are you charging N$970 per month for water consumption to someone who is hardly at home with no garden, plants, and does laundry once a week? Are you adding your personal water bills to our accounts? And stop telling people that a reading of five units is abnormal because you want to charge more. We are all poor people so stop the greediness. We are all suffering! I want your reply please.
*IT’S true that the Otavi Town Council has a lion’s mentality. The council is in a very deep sleep. Since 2013, our rubbish has not been collected. With the little showers we received, the rubbish has started germinating. It’s disgusting to pay for a service which is not rendered. Can someone please wake up the lion and her cubs to start cleaning please.
*STANDARD Bank, we need a branch here at Okongo please! Imagine how far Okongo is from Eenhana.
*A SCHOOL and village in Omusati Region called Ontsika with no electricity in almost 23 years of independence. What are you doing councillor?
*RUNDU Town Council, please speed up your services! I paid for water connection and its been three months and it’s still not connected. Why should you accept someone’s money when you don’t have enough material?
*OUTAPI Hospital, please do something. What is the duty of the cleaners? The hospital is dirty, both inside and outside The toilets have water on the floor. Management, please take action and do something. Visit hospitals and get an example.
Rest In Peace
*ABRAHAM Iyambo, you delivered, delivered, and delivered! The rest of our ministers, please take a page out of that book. Asseblief tog!
*ABRAHAM Iyambo, we will miss you a lot. The gap you left will never be filled. Thank you for everything you have done for this country and nation especially the pupils. May your soul rest in eternal peace.
*ABRAHAM Iyambo, the champion of excellence in all spheres of life. You fought and won a tough war. Rest in peace!
*ABRAHAM Iyambo died a hero! There is no doubt in the the foundation he laid socially and psychologically up to Friday the February 1. See what you to do with your hate speeches in The Namibian. Make sure you remain healthy forever otherwise your conscience will haunt you when you fall sick. Go public and tell the world what is wrong with you as you wanted to hear from him. Namibians, let us be fair to others or else we will face the consequences of our evils. Rest in peace our dear minister!
*OTHER ministers and leaders must follow Abraham Iyambo’s example. When you are appointed or given a job, you should perform 110 percent or more, so that when you die, your name and hard work will always be acknowledged. My his soul rest in peace and his achievements be alive for ever.
Response to Previous SMSes
*EVER since Bank Windhoek Kudu branch was renovated last year, whenever I go there I see customers complaining or even shouting. On average, only two tellers are available. No doubt the renovation was done for the wrong reason.
Bank Windhoek takes note of the recent SMS complaints published in The Namibian and would like to assure our clients that we are committed to the delivery of excellent service. It is difficult to respond to SMS complaints that do not contain specific detail and which are very generic in nature. Bank Windhoek would like to encourage its clients to contact the Bank’s Customer Contact Centre at (061) 299 1200 or via email at info@bankwindhoek.com.na, should they have any complaint or feedback that they would like to bring to the attention of the bank.

*ISAK Katali, your response to our queries on electricity at Ankonga Primary School is not satisfactory. Do you want to tell us that the school will remain a primary school forever? Why are we not benefiting like other regions? Do you want to tell us that there are no primary schools with electricity in Namibia? Don’t fool us! So, tell the government that elections are coming and we don’t want stories and empty promises. We don’t want stories of Okakutuwa and Uutsathima! We want electricity at Ankonga and Esindano lyaKristus Church.
