Food for Thought
*WHY should the army have a tender for food? What are the troops doing? Are there no chefs trained in the army? Can they not produce their own food since there is no war?
*LET’S keep Namibia clean!
*KEEP company with the wise and you will become wise. If you make friends with stupid people, you will be ruined. Proverbs 13:20.
*GOVERNMENT, you most certainly know how to spend vast amounts of money (mostly borrowed). How about introducing a new concept: Saving money. For example; government staff and salaries, S&T, abuse of government vehicles, telephones, computers, stationary, expensive trips, hotels and restaurants, theft of state resources missing from work stations and many civil servants running their private businesses from their government work desks. Who is strong and brave enough to stop the rot and save Namibia billions of dollars to help the unemployed, the youth, and senior citizens or pensioners?
*NAMIBIAN ‘Land of the Blame’ compatriots, let us stop complaining and start doing.
*THE discussion regarding the despairing small stock prices for the communal farmers in your paper has caught my attention. I would apportion the first blame on unorganised communal farmers and by extension their union, NNFU, who should be at the forefront of organising the marketing links and control for its membership. Secondly, the collusion of the middle men around the pricing is equally plausible and in fact ‘an open secret’, even Agra is funding these groups with credit to buy on these auctions. Now, if it is true that the middle men are only making N$20 per animal, how do they repay Agra’s credit interest? I think this is a wake-up to all. It is 2013 and surely it cannot be business as usual.
Bouquets and Brickbats
*A STATE funeral for a prominent figure where all the tents are white, yet Namlife’s branding is all over the main tent, can we not put money aside at times like this instead of taking advantage of a funeral to make money?
*I FAIL to understand Dudley’s message in Friday’s edition on The Namibian. To see my minister in a cartoon picture on the day of his funeral was disrespectful towards those who honour him. Dudley, your part in the newspaper is known to be one where you criticise wrong doings. Was that your last respect to him? May you be re-raised again in the manner that you have respect towards leaders.
– Cartoons serve many purposes. They provide comment, entertainment, probe and poke fun at topical issues. Friday’s cartoon was a tribute to the late Abraham Iyambo.

*IT’S obvious Rambler is on the gay list, thus the ranting and raving or maybe he just wanted to be on the list. His article is usually the highlight of the Friday paper, but what a disappointment!
– The Rambler has always made himself heard when the rights of citizens are trampled on. You don’t have to agree with him but he is delighted that you could have this healthy civil disagreement.
– The Rambler
*BEAUTIFUL Dudley beautiful, Friday’s cartoon.
*ELLA du Plessis High School, our children in the hostel are dying of hunger. We paid N$450 each term for the hostel but how can a child only eat two pieces of bread for supper with no fruit? Improve your menu or otherwise!
*WILLEM Isaacks, you lied. Now you want to tell us you have remorse. You are still lying! And, given the opportunity or under pressure, you will still lie again.
*HOW on earth can City of Windhoek build stands for traders on the parking lot opposite Gustav Voigts Centre? There is not enough parking in the city centre already and they still allow this? No wonder offices are standing empty and more residential areas are vanishing due to parking problems. CoW, please start planning!
*NOW they are saying ‘no more Oshitaka in NDF’ because they ate the money. Where are you ACC?
Suggestion Box
*CAN’T we get some female taxi drivers? Tired of these hooligans!
*PLEASE NBC, broadcast adult movies daily late in the evening. We are tired of watching cartoons.
*CAN any minister come out publicly saying that his or her child is attending a government school? Just wondering!
*THE only way to really honour the legacy of our beloved late minister Abraham Iyambo, is for the government, private companies and NGOs to organise a fund rising dinner and establish Dr Abraham Iyambo Achiever’s Acre in addition to Heroes Acre where we will have some monument for the late minister, our comrade, our friend, and most importantly a loved person. Here, we can put to rest the graves of the late Harold Pupkwetiz, Jackson Kaujeua and Abraham Iyambo. A place for an extra ordinary person such as, Frank Fredricks, Frans Indongo, Harry Simon, Johanna Benson etc. This will encourage the youth to work very hard, to reach greater heights in life, to deliver and be honoured in their motherland. Let’s unite as brothers and sisters and build the Land of the Brave for the sake of Minister Iyambo. May his soul rest in peace and God bless Namibia.
*I PRAY that we don’t change to our lousy winter time. Can’t we as a nation vote on it?
*GOVERNMENT, is it a fair question to ask? Why don’t you arrange ‘brainstorming sessions’ on a regular basis on serious topics such as unemployment solutions, poverty eradication, grossly overstaffed civil service, grossly overpaid ministers and others, and the equal distribution of Namibia’s wealth so that we can develop a culture of honesty, sober habits, caring attitude to others especially foreign visitors and investors.
Service Please
*CAN managers at KFC Tal Street please change their attitudes and get off their cellphones and assist staff.
*COULD NHE please enlighten the new home owners of the new NHE Otjomuise project. What is happening there? No proper streets, no water, no electricity, no sewerage services, and no fencing but the building of the houses is almost complete. Something is not right. NHE please explain!
*SUPERMARKETS in Windhoek and around the country should please clean their trolleys regularly.
*I AM always intrigued by the adverts placed by CANS – Recycle Namibia Forum. There are indications of drop off points, and some, like Maerua Mall, are inaccessible. There are none in Olympia or Cimbabasia that we know of. Should you call their offices, their staff don’t even know where the drop off points are located.
*I AM a bit concerned because my FNB online banking tells me that (unbeknown to me) I now have a senior lifestyle account. This is worrying, especially as no one asked my opinion, much less my permission to do this, and no such account exists according to their website.
*ROADS Authority, please paint the ‘km’ boards of the south (Mariental, Keetmanshoop). We are also tax payers.
*I AM very disappointed at how Keetmanshoop NaTIS are handling their bookings. Imagine, you are waiting from 04h00 to get a booking, only to be told that only the first five will get a booking and the other five telephonically. I also tried booking telephonically but every time I’m just told it’s fully booked. I think the system must be changed to benefit more people because it’s really frustrating and disappointing.
*WHAT’S wrong with the Gobabis Municipality? Our dust bins are full in Epako since December. The town is very dirty!
*NAMIBIAN Institute of Bankers, your services are very poor. Some of us received our results too late. You must put results on the internet. This will also will be better for some of us living in the village during holiday time. Do something please!
