SMSes for Friday 01 February 2013

SMS Of The Day *TO reduce road accidents in Namibia, start teaching driving lessons as a subject in government schools please.

Food for Thought
*POLITICIANS of Namibia, wake up and do something. Ministry of Environment and Tourism proclaims the parks but the Namib Naukluft Park and Dorop National Park are no longer parks. Rossing and Valencia mines are in national parks, and there are many more while the Topnaar communities and animals living in the parks are in danger.

*THE German imperial wars at the turn of the 20th century did not destroy the livelihood of the victims only, but also destroyed the language of victims. Yet, no single cent from the Special Initiative was spent on language development.

*NAMIBIANS, be ready for the revolution. We are the most oppressed people on earth because we are totally under control in every aspect of our lives. Robbed of our culture, land, wealth, health, and the worst – most are mentally enslaved. We can’t complain when a blind man leads another blind man to a pit. We are in the pit. Can’t we see?

Bouquets and Brickbats
*BASILIUS Haingura, you are sabotaging the Namibian dream! Teachers are demoralised by your egotistic political aspirations at the expense of the Namibian child. Do an honourable thing and resign!

*GIVE credit where it is due. Congratulations to Richard Kamwi and team for a milestone achievement in Namibia, receiving the African Leaders Malaria Alliance Award for Excellence in impact and implementation.

*NO wonder our children fail at school. The head of TUN clearly has no understanding of ‘abject poverty’. Teachers are apparently not poor, they choose to live beyond their means.

*IF the ‘struggle kids’ can walk that fast, Namibia’s future medal hauls at the Olympics are assured!

*SOMETHING is amiss regarding the processes followed by City Of Windhoek for the allocation of erven to low income clients. The waiting period is a cause of concern and I think it is legally changeable, but we, the poor beneficiaries don’t have the money and expertise to do that. That is where the CoW is taking advantage. Enough is enough! Watch this space.

*Why do those who take part in illegal activities cry for justice? Look at the illegal shebeen owners, they are forever crying for their rights. What rights do the illegal operators have?

*TO the mother who tied her son to a tree. Shame on you! I wish the boy all the wealth and happiness for the future and wish he receives a loving home.

*STANDARD Bank main branch responded to a senior citizen’s worry by referring them to Twitter and Facebook. Really?

Suggestion Box
*NBC, can we have a live platform on TV with stakeholders to discuss and get more information on the current state of housing and also the exorbitant prices. The Minister, City of Windhoek, NHE and live audiences should also be invited.

*ARE students not entitled to see our exam papers after they are marked? It’s like our final marks are given to us with eyes closed. Please, we want our exam papers to be given to us after they are marked.

*COCA Cola, please believe in modern technology. The collection of caps and envelopes is so yesterday and outdated. SMSes are the thing for competitions. Wake up!

*CITY Police, please publish the names of all of those with fines in a daily newspaper.

*CHIEF Santos FC management, please do something and bring back our team into the premier league. Former players please assist in coaching the boys. I want to see my team in the top flight.

Service Please

*CITY of Windhoek, what is your policy on church held services at homes every Sunday?

*EVER since Bank Windhoek Kudu branch was renovated last year, whenever I go there I see customers complaining or even shouting. On average, only two tellers are available. No doubt the renovation was done for the wrong reason.

*CITY of Windhoek, we need a public toilet at China Town please.

*CITY of Windhoek, don’t just concentrate on traffic fines. Do something else. Especially in Havana, we need tarred roads and electricity!

*MINISTRY of Home Affairs, are you aware that your staff in the Northern Industrial area, especially the birth certificate section, only work from 09h00 to 12h00? Please intervene or delegate someone to intervene.

*POLYTECH, why do we have to be there at 08h00 for registration and by 13h00 we are still waiting in a room with a defective air conditioner and rude staff? Seriously!

*I AM sure that the employees of the City of Windhoek and the system of the central, as well as the local government has no clue as to what it means to let someone wait six years after applying for an erf through the legitimate Build Together scheme. No you don’t! What must we do to get a piece of land?

*CAN someone please tell me who is monitoring houses for sale? Why on earth is there up to N$200 000 difference between houses in other towns and Windhoek? Someone must take responsibility and stop this nonsense. We too want to own houses please! If the government does not know how to manage this or even where to begin, they can hire consultants but this requires very urgent attention please.

*SEBASTIAN Ndeitunga, are you condoning police officers abusing women and girls or why are you quiet about the Rundu Police’s arrest of girls in mini skirts and shorts? On Wednesday police in Ongwediva refused to certify a young girl’s documents because she was wearing a mini skirt. Soon this abuse of innocent people will spiral down to the rest of Namibia while criminals are roaming the streets. Every woman and girl in Namibia is looking up to you to protect us!

*WHY do people run adverts if they hardly pick up their phones? At least just say it’s taken or whatever!

*I’M still waiting for my income tax return since June 2012. Something is seriously wrong with that division.

Labour
*IT IS strange and unbelievable that the Ministry of Finance can not secure back-pay for paltry housing (N$300) and transport allowance (N$87) from November 1 2012.

*RICHARD Kamwi, are you aware that forth year nursing students are now working night shifts without pay?

*PLEASE advise. NDF and NamPol does not belong to any union body that can represent us. We are suffering but can’t talk. It’s almost 23 years after independence yet we still live in poverty. We are not represented and there is a possibility that the two Ministries will not benefit from April’s salary regrading.

Education
*WE call upon the corruption commissioner to visit Divundu Combined School hostel and investigate the mismanagement of food. On January 29 the learners went to bed hungry because there was no food.

*OUR children don’t need computers in the classroom as much as they need libraries. Most of our schools, particularly rural ones, lack the technical back-up to keep computer networks up and running.

*THE Minstry of Education should implement the system of official language from Grade 1, as they do in private schools. They are forcing the poor young ones to study in their home languages in lower primary while their children are being taken to private schools, because they know that they will get a better education.

*PLEASE Minister of Education, you create a problem for all the teachers in Namibia by promising the parents that the Ministry will provide stationary. Tell the nation in detail the truth what you are providing. A school ordered 1 000 books but the ministry only provides 200. Be honest. Be serious with education. Be serious with the future of education.

Response to Previous SMSes
*To the viewer of One Africa, don’t you think that it is any better at DStv for N$600 because all we watch are repeats and one or two new shows a month. It’s one of the biggest rip offs. But, I must admit it is no good complaining, what must you watch  otherwise.

*YES, Standard Bank CEO, you do have two counters for senior citizens. However, never on the  20th, 25th, 30th and 31st should you have two tellers on duty.

*TO those who keep complaining about loan refunds that students get, do you even know what is meant by loan. The money students get is not just grants, they borrow that money and pay it back when they start working. It is theirs and they earn it! Nobody has the right to give somebody else’s refund to another. How would you react if you go to a cash loan then they give your loan to somebody else. Stop speaking without looking deep into what you are saying! Those who can’t afford registration fees should have studied hard to earn loans not just expect to get them because of their misfortune.

In and from the Region
*RUNDU Town Council, we are not asking much! Please, a cleaner town. Sweep the sand off the tar roads. Scrape the gravel roads! Street lights are not working! Please de-weed the grass so we can see the stop street!

*I TOTALY think something is wrong with NamPower, especially when it comes to Ongwediva. When it starts to rain, the electricity goes off. It was not like that during the so called ‘boers’ time.
