Food For Thought
*CABINET members, don’t be greedy. Firstly, give the pensioners N$1 500 per month. Secondly, raise the salaries of civil servants and those that are classified as low and middle income groups to 40%. Thirdly, give other civil servants 20% increase. Thank you.

*I HOPE these capitalist leaders of Swapo have seen The Namibian on Friday. Dudley’s region’s (Back to the Bantustans). This is the truth. Nowadays everyone want’s his own region. Nogal Hendrik Verwoerd region.
*WHY is President Hifikepunye Pohamba not attending Katima Mulilo Campus’ graduation ceremony? Yet he is attending the ceremonies on other campuses. How does he expect us to feel? This borders on clear discrimination.
*DR Joseph Diescho, your courageous words to the newly graduated teachers in Windhoek have touched my heart deeply as a Namibian teacher and I hope those who read your speech were also touched. Thank you. From inspired teacher at Oshakati.
*MINISTER Richard Kamwi, registered nursing programme is unfair. Why should only those with 20 to 30 points apply? What about those with 12 to 18 or 17 points? Even those with 30 or 35 points are not considered. It’s unfair and discriminatory! We also want to apply.
*I AM shocked by the attitude of fellow Namibians. When people die at the hands of NamPol or City Police, as has been alleged recently, people cry and blame them but none really witnessed what had happened. People are violent when they are arrested in a decent and prescribed manner. We must bear in mind that those officers are trained in martial arts and will defend themselves against a violent person. The men in uniforms will never raise their hands if there is no need. They will endure insults but they definitely are not punching bags of perpetrators. Therefore, treat them with respect.
*MINISTER of Gender and Equality, please stop the women who are misusing men by pretending they love them, whereas they are only interested in their money. This kind of behaviour is bad and surely contributes to the killing of women.
*I HAVE been saying and many people are saying that the NAMAs are not done fairly and is prone to fraudulent activities. Read the latest Confidente newspaper and hear what Mushe is saying. Even the winner of last year, apparently used her school mates by buying them recharge vouchers to vote for her. Rumours have it that a certain businessman and a close relative of Lady May was giving people recharge vouchers to vote for Lady May. Exit is right when he says that he deserved to win but because of fraud and because he has no money to pay people to vote for him, he lost.
– Be careful. Lady May was not nominated for any award at the NAMAs this year.

*WE are tired of false prophets in Namibia. God bless Namibia. Amen.
*THE Inspector General of NamPol and the Head of Human Resources, did you do research prior to advertising the position of Legal Officers which appeared in the New Era newspaper of 24 April? Do you think an LLB Degree holder with one or three years experience or an admitted legal practitioner will apply for a salary of N$12 853 (Inspector) and N$15 689 (Chief Inspector), respectively? For your information; those positions and salary scales are meant for entry level that requires a paralegal diploma or B.Proc Degree with or without experience. An LLB Degree with experience is very expensive to be abused and exploited in that fashion. This is a serious insult to the legal fraternity and indeed LLB Degree holders. Consult the Ministry of Justice for proper advice and guidance. Please.
*COUNCILLOR Zulu Shitongeni of Tobias Hainyeko, we are now sick and tired of waiting so long for the money that was given to small businesses by government. We applied in 2011 and our business was visited in 2012. What happened to the quotations we submitted last year? We are approaching another financial year without hearing anything. We want to develop our businesses. We would like to hear from you soon.
*THE Inspector General of the Namibian Police General Sebastiaan Ndeitunga can never escape the responsibility of the current chaotic and serious situation in which the NamPol finds itself. Please, take full responsibility sir because these are the results of your own non-consultive actions and approach. The seeds are now coming up.
*THE downfall of the Inspector General of the Namibian Police Force, General Sebastiaan Ndeitunga, is a result of his inclination to rely too much on the advice of one group with self interest. Had he listened to the balanced views from different people he would possibly have survived but it’s too late now. No reform or transformation is possible in NamPol under his leadership as he does not enjoy trust among the members of the force for a long time now. He must give peace and stability a chance for the good of all the Namibians.
*SAN people cannot be ruled by the Okavango or Caprivians. Stop the nonsense President Hifikepunye Pohamba. How could you allow that?
*ARE the people serious with PSEMAS? Why is the doctors’ consultation fee the same for both the standard and higher options? Are you serious? You are playing with our lives. We were never informed about the current changes. Public servants must open their eyes. We are actually taken for a ride. Only 10 consultations (visit the doctor) per year for the main member. What a joke?
*MINISTER of Youth and National Youth Service, what is going on? How can you take five or six people from each constituency only? What about the others? You are waisting our time and money while we are traveling long distances to apply for the jobs. Your motto reads ‘Turning The Youth Into Productive Citizens’, while you are actually turning the youth into unproductive citizens. Please do something about it.
*I THINK the Minister of Education is not doing anything. Just get rid of him.
*PLEASE do not steal other peoples’ cell phones out of their handbags. Thank you. -Pensioner
*I WOULD like to ask the Commander of Suiderhof Military Base if politics is allowed in that base? Swapo songs are played at the officers’ flats every night. Is that allowed in the military base?
*PLEASE promote the old teachers who have been working for 15 to 20 before you promote the young teachers. We don’t enjoy the fruits of independence.

*MANDELA beaten up and died afterwards. It’s so painful. I am sure that boy was named after tata Mandela. When I read about that I remembered tata Mandela spending 27 years in jail. Remember, that’s a big man’s name. Names are not just given like that. Rest in eternal peace. Young Mandela.
*POLYTECH of Namibia and management, please pay out our money for the job done with the Intervention Block Course. We worked hard because we need money.

*THANK you Minister of Education for understanding the complaints of ordinary teachers by taking note of applications for promotion-posts. The inspectors, principals and HRs overlooked the qualification and experiences of some teachers. They are sending friends and family members to attend workshops while those people are less qualified. We are tired with favouritism.
*IT IS teachers on the spot again. The Minister of Education does not want to see teachers sending kids home because they are marking. When should the teachers do the marking? I’m aware that some teachers do the marking at home every day. In some instances, if they are not allowed to do the marking at work, they sacrifice and spend sleepless nights. This leads to hypertension/ high blood pressure and even related deaths.
*MY recent stay in MediClinic Ward B was brief but the highly professional attention that I received from nurse Loide and all her colleagues really impressed me. Thank you. If all hospitals in the country could have just a few caring and dedicated nurses such as you, our health care system would be excellent.

*DEAR comrades in government, especially the Prime Minister and the President, I see during the last few weeks you are expressing yourselves against corruption. Please, let’s then start with the reports of the first three Presidential Commissions of Inquiry appointed by the former president, Sam Nujoma. I believe and is convinced that those reports will finger some top officials still in government. Please expose them.

*THE Namibian leaders are such hypocrites. Their outcry about tribalism is fake because they are the ones promoting tribalism and ethnicity. The promotion of tribal/ethnic structures in the form of traditional authorities is an example. To eliminate tribalism, separate traditional authorities from government structures and let that feudal order die its natural death. Review the existing regions and replace them with at least six to eight bigger ones that transcend tribal boundaries. The solution to service delivery can be attained by decentralising functions to the main centres in respective regions rather than regional capitals only. South Africa and Angola are much bigger than Namibia, yet they have fewer regions than us. Get rid of those small and useless regions that are only serving election purposes.
