Food For Thought
*WHY is it difficult for the Secretary of the Cabinet to call a media briefing and inform the public servants on the progress made with regrading? He knows very well that every public servant wants to hear about the progress.
Bouquets And Brickbats
*THE introduction of the death penalty in Namibia might stop the senseless killing and rape of innocent females. Please consider the death penalty.
*PLEASE leave the Delimitation Commission alone Dr Boniface Mutumba and your clique. I refer to the article in The Namibian of April 4 and 10, page four. We don’t want Muyongo ideologies in our peaceful country.

*CRY Thy Beloved Namibia. Fellow citizens our country is becoming dangerous with increasing violence against women and children. We are living in fear. Why? Because most of us have thrown away all the good things and now regard evil as good. Let us go back to basics and live according to Biblical teachings. This will put an end to such heinous crimes.

*ABOUT the young man who was killed on Thursday at Okahandja (Grysblock). Why should the suspect appear in Otjwarongo Magistrates Court while there is a Magistrates Court at Okahandja? Will the State provide transport for the victim’s family to go to Otjiwarongo to attend the court proceedings?
*MINISTER Iivula-Ithana don’t try do divert our attention from the incompetency at your Ministry by blaming people who lose they documents. Home Affairs needs to change, period. In fact, nobody wants to lose documents as it is very difficult to get them.
*ALLOW me to air my disappointment with the Secretary General of NFA Barry Rukoro. He slaped a man older than him in front of his son and other children at the SKW soccer field during an under-17 soccer tournament, when his son stumbled over the man’s foot and fell. The man tried to block the ball which went out of play and Barry’s son came running from behind and stumbled over the man’s foot. What example does he show to his son and the youth as a soccer administrator? It is disheartening to come across such incidents involving a public figure. Some people present even talked to him to calm down but he was stubborn.
*GOD only knows the poor Namibians cannot live without South African businesses. Just look at the prices of consumer goods. The prices are exorbitant. I wonder what would have happened to the poor if there was no competition.
*WOULD the Chinese nationals give us a valid reason as to why they want us to learn their language? Since we have English as an official language and medium of instruction in our schools there is no need to learn Chinese. They should rather learn our languages.
*ARE those who survived the Cassinga massacre not regarded as war veterans? I am a resident of Okafitu-kasisia in Ombalantu, in the Omusati Region. I survived the Cassing attack on 4 May 1978. I was registered many times at the Swapo Regional Office to become a veteran but nothing is happening since 2008. I need help from any one with an idea that can work. I need a response from the Minister of Veteran Affairs please.
*PRESIDENT Hifikepunye Pohamba must do something about cash loans in Namibia and those who brought them to the country. We feel betrayed by our own leaders. People should be paid enough money to meet the living standards of today.
*BY now the Namibian Police should have realised that there might be a link between the rape and murder of school girls. How many murders and rape are to happen before the killers are apprehended and the scourge curbed?
*IN terms of energy and performance in our Cabinet, two ministers have excelled above the rest. One was the late Minister of Education Abraham Iyambo and the other is the current Minister of Health Richard Nchabi Kamwi. I hear some voices saying he should be fired. Even when Minister Abraham Iyambo was alive some voices came with negative remarks about him. Remember? I, therefore, say if Minister Kamwi is to be fired for non-peformance, the entire Cabinet should be fired for having returned more than N$5 billion to the treasury last year. That money was meant for job creation, especially amongst the unemployed youth of our country. I would also suggest that all the reports of the Presidential Commission of Inquiries be tabled in Parliament in same way that the report on health was tabled in Parliament. That is my opinion.
*READING about the Deputy Minister Willem (Billed) Isaack, I completely agree with those Namibians who demand his dismissal. I wonder who recommended him to President Pohamba for his appointment to that office. It is disgusting.
*TO all truck drivers can we please keep our speed at 100/kph. Transport drivers between Oshakati and Windhoek must respect the road signs.
*WHO is Caprivi Regional Council fooling? You submitted a proposal to the Delimitation Commission to create a new constituency called Bwabwata. Where is this Bwabwata in the eastern Caprivi? You are elected representatives of the people therefore should not allow yourself to be intimidated by people who are coming from Windhoek. Caprivi needs enlightened and honest leaders.
*WELL done David Nuyoma, an increase in pension payouts is a welcome gesture. But please don’t meddle with long overdue payout of claims and reimbursements. It is time that the Board of Directors first attend to claims and reimbursements.
*CAN the Ministry Regional, Local Government and Housing or the ACC please investigate suspect land allocation to so called developers at Henties Bay.

Suggestion Box
*CAN the NBC management please extend the time of ‘The Week That Was’ to 40 minutes? The time is limited and does not do justice to the topics discussed, the NBC panelists or the viewers alike. It does not make sense to cut the discussion because of a time limit. I have always held the view that we should not discriminate against ourselves. ‘The Week That Was’ is an important programme for people who want to follow arguments on the news broadcast during the week. It is one of the best programmes apart from the time limit.
*HALF of the population in Namibia hate the winter time change. Why don’t we consider doing away with it?
*AG stop this stupid time change. It is indeed depressing!
*WINTER Time brings productivity down and laziness goes up. Sun has already risen at 06h00. That suits civil servants perfectly because they are lazy.
Service Please
*MTC please explain to us why your ‘happy hour’ free internet service is so slow? We pay and we expect you to deliver fast internet service but it is not the case. How on earth are we supposed to use the internet at a speed of zero to 5kb/s? Fix this issue or terminate it so our money and time is not wasted anymore.
Educations
*MINISTER of Education, we would like you to visit the Linea Nampala Combined School. We are sharing question papers during the exams. We don’t have electricity and there are not enough text books. Minister David Namwandi bring some changes.
*IUM management as students we are concerned about the fact that there is no graduation ceremony this year. Why?
*CAN Unam and the Ministry of Education come out in the open and reveal what criteria they used to select school-based mentors for the English proficiency programme. I wrote the test and was exempted but that was the last time I heard from them. Do I need to apply to be in this programme with or without remuneration? Something is fishy.
Health
*MINISTER Richard Kamwi should visit the Opuwo State Hospital and bring necessary change of heart to the attitude of nurses there. Imagine, a person visits the hospital for treatment every day from Monday and only get treatment on Friday. We are tired of the poor service.
*THE nurses at Oshakati State Hospital are gambling with people’s lives. They should improve on their attitude towards service delivery and attend quickly to patients’ problems. They lack passion and most of all forget their duty. Why are they in the profession if they are not interested in their work?
*OSHAKATI Intermediate Hospital is burning. Midwives wronged by letting a mother drop her child at birth on the hard surface resulting in the baby’s head being crushed. Two midwives are on suspension without pay. Other people are suspended on full pay until otherwise decided and the investigation is finalised. Why the injustice?
*ABOUT the recent death of a baby at Oshakati State Hospital. Please sue the nurses that were on duty not the Government.
