Food For Thought
*GERMANY was destroyed during the two world wars but they re-built afterwards and it became a first world country. But in Namibia everything collapsed after 23 years of independence and peace. What a shame.
Bouquets And Brickbats
*HOW does Social Security expect mothers to survive if their money is paid out late? How can one survive for two months without any money? The government stops our salaries so that the Social Security can make the payment but the money is paid out very late or nothing at all despite the fact that they deduct from us every month.
*TAXI drivers must please educate their customers who throw rubbish out of their cars. Please keep Windhoek and Namibia clean. Keep your rubbish in the car and dispose of it at the nearest rubbish bin.
*FNB Grootfontein offers a very good service through their tellers whereas the service at Standard Bank Grootfontein leaves much to be desired.
*I WANT to take part in the debate regarding the work of the delimitation commission in Caprivi. The council management, including the governor, must not distance themselves as it was indicated in the newspaper. It is not wrong to talk about the boundaries. Caprivi borders with Kavango from Bagani. We never had a western Kavango. There was only western Caprivi. Tranditional leaders and councillors must join hands to push back the border to Bagani. The delimitation commission must consult with the people of the region because they don’t know the place.
*AT the end of the month Grootfontein FNB has a lot of customers and the tellers are doing a very excellent job by emptying queue after queue. They are young and motivated. I am very happy with their service. Keep it up.
*MINISTER of Defence, please tell us what is going on with the regrading of our salaries. We were informed that it would happen during the month of April. Did you forget, sir?
*THE Employment Equity Commissioner calls white people who are managing the private companies “the dragons from the wrong era”. Sies tog, ga. Your brain is rotten. Rise up and look at yourself. Where were you 23 years ago? We are building Namibia. All of us are working towards that goal. Whether black, white, Wambo or San.
*TO the people who are at war with the Minister of Health. You need to think of the immediate supervisor of Oshakati State Hospital first. Where was he/she at the time of the most debated incident of the baby? I think Minister Richard Kamwi is one of the few transparent leaders of this nation. We always see him in the media. That is a sign of hard work.
*TO the person who is complaining about Minister Richard Kamwi. You are telling us about what the leaders in USA, Britain and Europe would do if they were in Minister Kamwi’s position. Surely, you don’t think Namibia is another USA, Britain or Europe? Be a bit more realistic.
*I AM now in my fifties and have been attending (part time) classes at the Polytechnic of Namibia for five years. During this period there was no toilet paper and no soap to wash you hands after using the toilet. The statistics and maths classes are full (over capacity). The smell in that class is not healthy.
*PRISONER Officials at Farm Scott and the prisoners are suffering because there is no water for weeks now. This is because the power utility NamPower cut the power off. We are informed that the department of prisons did not pay their bill.
*OUR government must visit roadsides all over Windhoek and employ those men who are sitting at street corners as labourers and cleaners. That can reduce unemployment. Don’t expect them to make applications because some of them cannot write. But they are hard workers.
– Kiito, Windhoek
*MINISTER Richard Kamwi does his work well. The problem is that some people at operational level treat people like dogs. All the health workers with bad attitude should either be told to go or behave like normal beings with hearts and not like beasts. Yes, the work may be exhausting but mistreating people is not a solution. Let us treat our people like human beings and not abuse them. The same applies to the people being served. Let us treat each other with respect and dignity as we are all brothers and sisters.
*MINISTER Richard Mchabi Kamwi you did absolutely good on ‘One-on-One’. I think the Ministry of Health can go far if strict measures are applied. God bless you with more wisdom. The Ministry of Health is doing well under your leadership.
*I SINCERELY want to thank the police officers on duty at the vehicle clearance division. On 9 April, I arrived at 08h18 and departed at 09h15 with the vehicle clearance certificate. I want to commend the police constables on duty. That is what I call service. They were friendly and helpful.
*MINISTRY of veteran affairs, let me shed more light on the project issue which has been a thorn in our flesh. Firstly, don’t pin your hopes on projects because they are only approved once in a year. Secondly, there is no first come first serve approach. Thirdly, high profile officials in the line ministry has the mandate to approve or disapprove the project. Fourthly, your project must be very unique in the sense that it must be different from other projects in order for it to draw the attention of the decision makers. Well informed war veteran.
*MINISTER Richard Kamwi, I salute you for being a leader who humbles himself before the government and public. I watched ‘One-on-One’. We as a government should only support you with resources. I appeal to my fellow Namibians: let us not just criticise Kamwi but support him. May God continue to give you strength and wisdom. Lau.
*GIBEON Village Council, do you know what nepotism is? It is to give preference to your in-laws (skoon mense) when it comes to employing people. That’s pure corruption. Don’t bother advertising posts because you already know who you are going to employ.
Service Please
*COME on Shoprite, get rid of your swiping system or train your staff if they can’t operate the system. If you send people to go and get bank statements and come back the following day for refund of N$40. I am sure you wouldn’t want to lose that amount of money in your shop. It happens time and again and I’m getting tired of it.
– Fed-up customer
Health
*IT seams the managements of government hospitals are in total disorder. It is high time that the ministry pull up their socks and bring the culprits to book.
*MINISTER Richard Kamwi should visit Luderitz State Hospital and bring necessary changes there. Imagine you go to the clinic for treatment and there are no doctors most of the time. The nurses don’t know when the doctor would come. It seems there is no communication between the nurses and doctors. When the patients are referred to Windhoek they are not provided with food and have to travel the long distance without eating anything. Yet they have to take medication. All the other hospitals provide food to their patients. Keetmanshoop decided not to provide food to patients from Luderitz. Some of the patients don’t work and have no money. The distance between Windhoek and Luderitz is 835km. Minister Kamwi, don’t only pay attention to the north. Pay a visit to the south. It’s very important.
Labour
*TO our goverment and the labour office. Please help the farm workers. Some of them have worked for five, 10 and even 15 years but they only earn N$800 per month. Why?
*SIES tog Chief Ankama. You should be ashamed of yourself. Treating your workers like dogs and yet you are a lawmaker (Confidente 28 March). I don’t think for a moment that these people will suck that story out of their thumbs. We believe what they are saying. Your head has swollen. Go and do the work yourself so we can see who is lazy. Treating your own people like dogs is shameful. President Hifikepunye Pohamba you should fire him. He is not worthy to be in Parliament.
In And From The Regions
*GOVERNOR Clinton Swartbooi, help the people living in Karas Region. We are struggling to find jobs in our region, especially in Luderitz and Oranjemund. People from other regions come here and get employed while we are told that there is no work. We are being overlooked. Our leaders need to look after us.
*ANELJO Bookshop employees at Mariental are locked out and the shop is closed for customers when the white manager wants to go to a toilet in another shop. After all these years in business there is still no toilet for the employees. Ministry of labour please investigate.
