Food For Thought
*IT IS is really distressful. While the President is calling on the ACC to seriously redouble its efforts to root out corruption, the office of the Prosecutor General and NamPol are comfortably siting on the reports involving the people in high positions. The reports of Social Security Commission, Ministry of Defence, ODC, Omusati toilet scam and GIPF are cases in point. Let us practice what we preach!

*TO Minister Richard Kamwi and The Namibian newspaper: If you don’t condone the behaviour of the nurses at Oshakati State Hospital publish the picture and details of them in the newspaper, so that we can avoid them. We all know that nothing will happen to them anyway.
*CITY of Windhoek, roads department, please change the middle lane of Hans Dietrich Genscher Street to allow vehicles to turn into Independence Avenue. There are more cars turning into Independence Avenue than those going straight to ‘Owambo location’, especially at peak hours. Thank you.

*EPUPA Investment Technology. Please shape up or ship out! We have not received our pension cards after 14 months.
*THOSE who call for the head of the Minister of Health must think again because he has got nothing to do with the deaths of mothers and babies at state hospitals. If negligence could be proven beyond reasonable doubt, the staff members involved should be sacked.
*I HUMBLY request the managing director of GIFP, David Nuuyoma to get the company’s system in order. We are students and are solely dependent on our grants, but according to your Call Centre there is nothing they can do about it. The person who captures the data has thousands of applications to handle and no payment has been made since January. Please wake up.
*THE story about the TIPEEG programme in the Confidente newspaper where a Permanent Secretary is giving out tenders to his family has reference: That is just a tip of the iceberg. The man in charge simply knows how to put his hands in the cookie jar and still looks clean. He has been doing it for years and he is now the owner of TIPEEG. The President is talking about curbing corruption, which is right, but things are happening right under his nose.
*THE Governor of the Karas Region, Clinton Swartbooi calls on white community to unite with black citizens to forge ahead with the country’s development” and the Employment Equity Commissioner calls white people in management of private companies “the dragons from the wrong era”. Can government please make up its mind as to where we, the whites fit in?
*THE front wheel of my car had a puncture between Otavi and Otjiwarongo. It was not long before some drivers stopped to assist me. Thank you Namibian men for caring. Please do the same in other spheres of life. Special thanks go to three guys on the way to Katima Mulilo. May God bless you.
*THE Executive Committee of the Soccer House must be dissolved. Our soccer has become stagnant from 1998 until 2013. They must resign and hand over the reins to people who are competent to run the business. This is enough.
*THE fat cats in the government must retire and make space for the younger generation to lead the country. We need new ideas and innovative people.
*CAN someone please tell us what is wrong at Keetmanshoop Municipality. We need houses, but if you call NHE, they simply tell you that they are waiting for the municipality to give them erven. We are sick and tired of paying rent.
*I REMEMBER very well when the Kasikili island was taken from Caprivi. The same person, Minister Albert Kawana failed to effectively defend it but rather gave it up to Botswana.
*I SUPPORT the lady who lost her baby at Oshakati State Hospital. Truly, it also happened to me as at Windhoek Central Hospital in the year 2000. The nurses told me to walk around in the delivery room but I could feel the head of my baby pushing downwards. In my case I sat down on the floor and the baby was born on the floor and that’s when they started running around and bringing the bed. I saved the live of my son myself! They must be punished without mercy.
*CAN the Minister of Education and the Permanent Secretary please help the Caprivi Education Directorate. Interviews for two inspector posts took place in two phases. The first round took place on 12 March and the second round of the same interview on 22 March. The last group was left out and they were told that they don’t qualify. Is this possible?
*I AM disturbed and worried about the killing of innocent women. When is the government going to take drastic action against the culprits. I would like to hear that some measures are put in place during the extraordinary congress. Government must take serious steps.
*EVERY town in Namibia must have a Namibia Fish Consumption Promotional Trust (NFCPT) shop. Why is this type of shops only in certain towns? Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources please wake up!
*I DON’T understand why some people drag the name of the Health Minister into the baby-saga. Are there no midwifes, matrons, supervisor, doctors an directors? Or do they have some issues with the minister? All the ministers have people below them who are responsible to do the work. Please, leave Richard Kamwi alone.
*WHEN is the diploma in nursing and midwifery training going to start? We are waiting for the training. The training should have started on 2 April. Ministry of health is not serious!
*NAMIBIAN men are mentally sick? Women as mothers should carry the blame because they give birth to the men and raise them. Mudslinging is not the answer. Just bring back the death penalty like in Botswana and the Arab countries and the rapist and killers born and raised by women will behave!
*THE officials in high positions of government must please help the poor people in Otjiwarongo. Cenored is ever changing regulations in Otjiwarongo to the detriment of the people. The pensioners and unemployed people are suffering in Otjiwarongo. With only receive 113 Units for N$200. Imagine, how can we fight poverty in that way?
*THE fight against the rape of young defenceless women in Namibian cities must be given priority. Municipalities and the Government must consider to support these people. There must be short and long term solutions in place. Young girls must be trained to defend themselves. In addition, municipalities must consider the adequate provision of community safe centres for youths to be involved in physical activities, extramural learning programmes and religious institutions must also provide youth programmes that build the moral fibre of our youth.
* Severius Majiedt, your article about queues was awesome, but it’s Sir Alex Ferguson, not Alex Ferguson.
*DEAR Namibian, do I understand your article correct? Attorney PF Koep and Judge Dave Smuts complained about the land acquired from the City of Windhoek by Lazarus Jacobs for far lower than market value, but they withdrew their complaints when they were also offered a piece of that land. Ai, if only Namibia had an ACC that was worth something and the President’s words against corruption were more than just words, then things would have been better.
*ENOUGH is enough. If ever my daughter has to suffer at the hands of anyone I will hunt him down and kill him. It is a promise. Namibian people, will have to stand up and do something. It seems that the justice system has failed us. That is why people continue to slaughter our daughters.

*WHY did the City of Windhoek not remove the dead kudus lying at Avis, especially those in the shallow dam water. Rabies is a water-based disease and poses a health threat with the dead animals lying in the water. Dogs swim there, people catch fish and it is very disturbing. Please do something about this situation.
*THE ACC should investigate the procurement activities in the Ministry of Health. Procurements are not done at the health facility anymore. We already see the signs of corruption.
Service Please
*AT a time when the world is becoming disabled-friendly and our disabled athletes are bringing home gold medals, FNB Oranjemund is making banking even more difficult by blocking the ATM. Why?
*AIR NAMIBIA and South African Airways based at Windhoek International Airport: The attitude of your staff is shocking. They are unhelpful and unfriendly. They act as if they are doing a favour to the passengers. You need to train your staff in customer services.
*EENHANA FNB manager, if you are not capable of doing the job, please leave. How can a person wait for three hours without being served and there is only one teller. FNB management should make changes at Eenhana FNB branch.
