Food For Thought
*THE government must first have a look at the Namibian roads and then buy Mercedes Benzes for ministers. The roads to Oshakati and Omungwelume, Omafo and Okalongo are used a lot but they remain gravel roads since 1990. Why?
Bouquets And Brickbats
*MINISTER of Health, with much respect and having met you in person before: 1) Why do you seem to be nervous, (2) Responses and action only come after intervention by State House. deputy minister, permanent secretary, directors and supervisors you are not doing your job. Positive points are appreciated, but stand the ground.
*MTC apparently invited local production companies to come on board while giving a three year deal to South Africans. The question remains; is there any skills transfer taking place and who is to blame? Please respect the film/video industry. You are making a mockery of our career. Tell us is it NBC employees or the South Africans who are responsible for the blatant negligence and poor planning?
*CAN the MTC explain the point of deducting money when the internet is not even working and the internet can’t even connect? Refund the money you have already deducted or stop the deductions. This boils down to poor service.
*PARLIAMENTARIANS, you already earn so much money. Think of the pensioners, only then will God bless this country.
*ABUSE of government vehicles by the drivers at the Ministry of Education in the Caprivi Region is disturbing. Now is the time for the minister to intervene. One driver was arrested last year for ferrying reeds from Lizauli Village, south of Kongola, with a government vehicle to Sachona Village. The case is still pending and the gentleman is still driving government vehicles with his bad and abusive behaviour. Every weekend he takes a government vehicle to his village and drives these cars from one shebeen to another. This is totally unacceptable and he needs to be called to order.
*MVA Windhoek, your customer service has gone back down. We used to be treated well in the past but the treatment is now equal to that of Home Affairs. The staff is very rude.
*GOVERNMENT must give jobs to the ‘struggle kids’. If they have already given jobs to the first bunch of struggle kids why wouldn’t they give jobs to the last group? Kids from Kwanza Zul, Nyango and Lubango were denied school after they came back to Namibia.
*U-SAVE Rehoboth, why is the expired Hartlief products on your shelfs? On 23 April I found products with the expiry date of 26 March 2013.
*THE management of Windhoek Central Hospital, could you please help us? The secretary to the medical superintendent does not show professional behaviour towards the staff members when we enquire about overtime payment. Please assist us.
*MINISTER Jerry Ekandjo, please investigate the transfer of staff in the Youth Directorate of your ministry. Some people are transferred from one centre to another, from regions to head office at anytime they want to while there are people who requested for transfer years ago. Until now, there is no response irrespective of the merits of their requests. Some people have been promoted from Head of Centre positions to Chief Youth Officer positions without undergoing interviews. There is no fairness in the transfer of staff members.
*SOME courageous teachers demonstrated last year that they can express their dissatisfaction with their treatment while the cost of living is ever-escalating. As a result, civil servants benefitted from a very welcome salary adjustment that came our way just before Christmas. The very same beneficiaries are now issuing written warnings to their brave colleagues. Shame on you.
*WOW! Lady May says ‘goodnight mother f%$ers’ without referring to anyone and the nation goes all ape (please the ape part was just a matter of expression. So I won’t apologise to the nation) Lazarus Jakobs refers to Oshiwambo speaking Namibians as ‘gweries’ and gets away with it, scott free.
*WHAT’S happening to our moral standard? How could a presenter want to pick up something, hopefully not gonorrhea. Is gonorrhea now picked up in the air or is it sexually transmitted? The MTC and NBC should really pull up their socks and watch over our morals.
*THE investigating team missed the point. Minister Richard Kamwi, Kamati and El-Saidi, you can not blind nor fool the public about the baby’s death. What caused the meconium aspiration in the first place?
*MINISTER of Veterans Affairs, please pay out our N$50 000. We are tired of waiting, or you going to tell us that you are waiting for the budget? No, I don’t think so. We want to eat like you, three times a day. You are always out of office, getting S&T. You must also approve our projects. We want to make a living too and stop looking at people’s surnames. Clean your tables. Do you want us to die? Is that the reason you are taking long with whatever is done at your ministry. Don’t you worry because you have food on your tables?
*GOVERNMENT is to be blamed for this spiral around Ondonga region, which is purely tribalistic. One cannot praise tribal leaders on the one hand and criticise tribalism on the other hand. Tribal leaders are there to promote tribalism and are doing so. It’s just a matter of time before another tribal region emerges.
*PLEASE GRN, let’s do something to help our fellowmen, Angolans. I was speaking to a former Angolan refugee last week in Windhoek. I was surprised to hear that these people are here almost for a year without any assistance of UNHCR. But they are living normally, buying their own food. They don’t want to go back home. Why is government not giving them documents so they can live freely like Namibians? They are not disturbing anyone. They are humble people.
*I HUMBLY urge all the students who were put on hold for the diploma course for Registered Nurses to meet on 29 April at National Health Training Centre, Windhoek.
*ONDONGA as a name of a region is posing danger and threat to peace and stability in the country.
*WHEN will water be restored at Tutungeni in Rundu? Please Town Council we are thirsty.
*TAX Office in Rundu, please wake up.
*LEAVE the poor nurses in Oshakati alone. Just accept the outcome of the investigation team. It is because of power failure.
*RESPONSE to regrading for men and women in uniform. Firstly, you are failing to trace Lazarus Shaduka. You have many cases that are pending, you are failing to decrease rape and passion killing. Are you trained to kill or to hunt down criminals.
*NAMPOL, our salaries are not adjusted since 2011. We are suffering. Human Resources Department must work out our backpay and make adjustments. General Sebastian Ndeitunga, please do something. We are not happy to do our work while we are hungry.
*NO MTC numbers are listed in the telephone directory other than the Windhoek number. It takes hours, sometimes days to solve a simple but annoying problem. It is also costly. My Leo connection is a real necessity. Thank you Leo.
*THAT was the NAMAs and not SAMAs. We are talking about Vision 2030. How will we ever achieve Vision 2030 while we keep on giving contracts to a South African company for everything? Even little things we can do we just go to them. Let’s wake up Namibians. This was not the first music awards in Namibia.
*‘STRUGGLE kids’, be aware that once you have criminal records, you will not be eligible for employment in NamPol or NDF. Don’t make your hands/record dirty.
*THE electricity at the Ministry of Youth at Otjiwarongo had been cut on 10 April 2013 and it is still off up to this day.
*A BIG heartfelt thanks to the hospitality of Kleinne Professor College staff in Suiderhoff (Windhoek). In particular the owner and co-founder, the former and current principal for your immense educational input rendered in books and in monetary terms for the purchase of jerseys for the learners, especially the OVC at Panduleni Primary School in the Kavango Region. Your type is rare in today’s world. You will remain our heroes and heroines in the history of our school for touching our lives. Thumps up to you.
*WHY are there so many complaints about the Namibian Police this time around? Is General Sebastiaan Ndeitunga capable of leading this force?
*THE tyrannical style leadership in the Namibian Police Force is fuelled by tribalism and divide and rule tactics. Will it be addressed now or will there be no fear anymore?
*WE are heading for a lawless and chaotic country if corrective measures are not implemented in NamPol, immediately. There are people who want to eat alone, to travel alone for S&T and to get other benefits alone. There are rival groups in the force and only a small spark will bring an explosion.
*I READ an article about the infighting in fishing industry and that a church can be allocated shares. Now I am wondering about the rumours in town that a dominee got a fishing concession and sold it immediately to a wealthy person and became an instant millionaire. Was it perhaps for the church or for himself? Minister Bernard Esau, where can I apply?
*I JUST want to know if we are not part of this government as Tswana speaking Namibians, as everything is going to other tribes but not to us. We are not even mentioned in some instances.
*JAN Mohr High School, the parents are tired of donations that are requested every time. Is the school not getting a subsidy from government? We also have other children at other schools as well. Please be considerate.
*I AM a civil servant working for the Ministry of Works and Transport where I have observed this for a very long time. It is so painful to see some staff members using GRN cars every day, to and from work, while some of us are struggling to get transport money every day. We want equal treatment.
– Concerned civil servant
*I CAN bet that all our MPs will be present in Parliament when it is time to decide for their salary increment. That’s one of the few times you can expect to see a quorum in Parliament.
*PROPHET Elizabeth, remember that God is the one who created everything on earth. No one will become like the son of God. Don’t play with God my friend. What you are doing is wrong.
*NSA recruitment for Namibia Demographic and Health Survey (NDHS). John Stytler, the recruitment done by human resources in conjunction with people at data entry was an opportunity for them to employ themselves, their friends, family members etc. They are doing this at the expense of those who did NDHS pilot and listing and met all the requirements. It’s about time that such people be dealt with. Recruitment should be just and fair. Are data entry officers qualified to do shortlisting? They ended up employing themselves and their friends. The NSA’s HR division has been doing this even while at CBS. Now is the time for heads to roll.
*ADELHEID Jacobs should come back to the media and apologise to the nurses of Oshakati State Hospital. We, nurses are tired of being called names.
Suggestion Box
*MANAGER of Lewis Stores, Outapi branch, please talk to one of your staff members. She is so arrogant and normally uses bad words towards customers. She really needs training on customer service. I hope you know who I am referring to. Please do it promptly, or else you will end up losing customers just because of her.
*NAMIBIA must just nationalise everything and start operating like a major global company with the ministers as managers of different departments and the president as the CEO and we, the citizens, as shareholders that are entitled to dividends with all the benefits.
Labour
*GENERAL Sebastiaan Ndeitunga, are you aware that Oshana Region is behind with promotions? There are lot of members who joined the Police Force in 1990, 1995, 1996 and 1997, but they are still constables. Please do something our moral is down.
Education
*ENGLISH and mathematics teachers for Grade 11 and 12 at Nehale Senior Secondary School, we need to see improvement in next year’s results. The results for this term are not promising at all. Deliver please, that’s the slogan of the late Abraham Iyambo.
Health
*IT’S a shame for the Ministry of Health to allow all pharmacist assistants’ tutors to resign just because the ministry does not want to improve their benefits.
In And From The Regions
*THE CEO of Gibeon is a stumbling block to the development of the village, including the councillors. They are the only ones owning shops and bars. Even the Traditional Authority Councillor is owning a place selling alcohol. They just want us to drown in poverty with drunkenness. Please rescue us.
Lost And Found
*I, WILLEM Willemse, lost my wallet in a taxi. The wallet contains my identification card, bank cards, access cards etc. If found, please contact me at 0812705691 or 0811461185.
