SMSes for Friday 05 April 2013

SMS Of The Day *IT IS absurb that Lüderitz does not have a private dentist. To drive to Keetmanshoop for treatment is unacceptable, while there is a hospital with facilities. The service at Lüderitz State Hospital is pathetic to say the least. Is there anybody out there to come and rescue Luderitz?

Food For Thought
*THE headline “Chinese company accused of enviromental damage” must be changed to “Chinese company caught causing enviromental damage with the help of enviromental commissioner Theo Nghitila”, and the commissioner must be investigated by the toothless ACC. Sies. No respect for our wildlife, flora and fauna, our beloved Welwitschia Mirabilis. Just to make a quick buck at the expense of our heritage. Shame on all Namibian shareholders.

Bouquets And Brickbats
*A BABY died at Oshakati State Hospital after nurses refused to assist the woman delivering a baby. This is equal to passion killing. The difference though, is that ladies are killing babies. Lord, have mercy on us because we are lost. The question is; where are your hearts? A pregnant lady is in need of help, and you walk away? Even an engineer who works with machines takes care of his machines better. To the Jacobs lady who lost her baby; may the good Lord give you the strength.

*I WONDER how the recruitment process of Nampol works. A taxpayer who pays the salaries of the Police Force gets harassed if he takes his girlfriend home or is it their right to intimidate men while in uniform? Please act against those ignorant young recruits in Rehoboth! I have my rights too.

*PLEASE Minister Jerry Ekandjo, fire all those who are working in Katutura Soccer House.

*CONSIDERING the serious crimes happening on a weekly basis around the country, we need qualified investigating officers who are trained and specialised to do the job. We also need accurate equipment. Rape, murder and baby dumping are the order of the day and no one is held responsible. I am therefore requesting our government to spend more money in order to establish a competent team with the necessary skills. Thank you.

*I FAIL to understand how Usakos Town Council allows people to operate a workshop in Erongosig township. There is too much noise, old trucks parked everywhere, scrap metal everywhere, oil waste and it has also become a breeding place for snakes and all bad things.

*USAKOS Town Council, please remove the illegal workshop in Erongosig. Old trucks and scrap in Erongosig residential area are polluting the place. The rate payers cannot sleep at night. Something needs to be done.

*PEOPLE are ALREADY struggling to find jobs but employers have now come up with a new system where jobseekers are required to e-mail their CVs when they apply for employment. What is disturbing is that not all of us have those facilities. This will only increase the unemployment rate.

*THE Anti-Corruption Commission must investigate the Otjiwarongo Munispality. I know residents are in arrears with their accounts, but how is it possible that I buy water for N$100 and I only get water for N$50. This is not fair. We are tired of being robbed.

*IT’S very disappointing. Caprivi Regional Council distanced itself from the changes proposed to the Caprivi/Kavango boundary. Please remember that you are the leaders of the Caprivi Region and therefore you must make address the aspirations of the people of Caprivi. Organise meetings to ensure that people give input and come up with suggestions. Behaving like cowards will not help us. Don’t be afraid of losing your positions. Liberate yourself mentally. Be the voice of your people.

*FNB Namibia. We need an Automatic Teller Machine at Noordoewer. We are tired of being overcharged by Bank Windhoek’s ATM, which is the only teller machine available at Noordoewer.

*I WANT to hear from the Ministry of Education as to when we are going to get our Grade 12 certificates for 2012? I am in the Karas Region, but still haven’t received   mine.
– Joseph J.H

*MINISTER of Veterans Affairs some of us are old. We need our projects to be approved. I submitted my project proposal in 2010, but have not received any response up to now.

*SECRETARY to Cabinet is bulldozing the whole regrading issue. We know that his salary will be more than half a million per year and with all benefits it will be more than a million. You want the aggrieved parties to appeal in March 2013, which is not enough time. Rather postpone the implementation to next month and review all appeals during April 2013. All salaries can be backdated to April first. Don’t rush with the implementation.

*OSHANA Education Region, please improve your services. You are taking too long to give our payslips. We are now in April, but we haven’t received the payslips for the month of March, which we were supposed to get before 20 March. Please pull up your socks.

*CAN the Magistrates Commission and the Prosecutor-General do something about the situation at Katutura Magistrate A-court. Cases are being postponed because there hasn’t been a Magistrate or Prosecutor for the last two years.

*I THINK the Deputy Minister of Mines and Energy, Willem Isaack is a nuisance and liability to the nation! What is the use of keeping him in government? Get rid of him, please.

*HOW can Minister Richard Kamwi be at fault if health workers do not do their work? I think he is one of the hardest working ministers in our government. How come we never question the Permanent Secretaries and Deputy Ministers who are almost invisible? When there were problems in Ministry of Works and Transport we were on George Simataa’s neck. What is this?

*MINISTRY of Veterans Affairs, please stop approving projects through the back door. My project has been in your office for over a year without even being looked at. I have been patronising your office to no avail. Staff members are not even keen to assist. All they can tell me is to contact the Permanent Secretary. Be fair enough to  do the right thing.
– Ndanjengwa

*HOW does this Trustco Life Cover work? Since it started my cover does not reach the maximum value. It’s being reduced every time, instead of going up and I am buying everything at Shoprite. I was expecting my Life Cover to reach N$50 000 by now.

*PRESIDENT Hifikepunye Pohamba, it is worrisome that maternal deaths, rapes, corruption, murder, unemployment, alcohol and many social evils are happening around us. Why are you always quiet, instead of reacting quickly to these evils? Why don’t some of the ministers take full responsibility for what’s happening within their ministries? Is this a new fashion of ignorance? What happened to the values and principles of a leader? What can we remember with pride about your government? Please act now! Ministers show a sense of maturity and selflessness! The entire nation is praying for you to get wisdom!

*HAKAHANA Clinic is a problem. They don’t help sick people after lunch, and nurses knock off early. Their service is slow and they are very rude with patients. The security guards don’t have respect for us.

*FELLOW Namibians. Let us open our eyes. The Chinese want us to study their language in our country. That only means one thing. The Chinese are planning to colonise Namibia. Period. The top leaders in our Government have a tendency to allow the Chinese to do whatever they like. Every Namibian must say NO to the Chinese language. Believe me. No one in top leadership will enroll to study the Chinese language. At least we can show them and their Chinese friends that we are not prepared for another colonisation. I have had enough of Chinese people.

*I DON’T know why we Namibians should pay exorbitant prices for products that are produced in Namibia.

Suggestion Box
*WE continuously raise the problem of crime in the cities and towns, but we never come up with a solution. What is wrong with deploying fit and capable police officers in pairs that are properly equipped, to patrol various sections in towns and cities? Just my opinion.

Service Please
*PEP Stores please, send your workers for customer care services training. They don’t know how to work with people. I am talking about a supervisor in Pep Stores near Post Street Mall. That lady is very rude. She must change her attitude.

Educations

*IS the Ministry of Education serious about improving the teachers English proficiency? This morning (Wednesday) Unam informed us (mentors) that we will now be school-based facilitators with no remuneration. Who would work for free in these tough times? This trend of exploiting teachers MUST END! We have sacrificed a lot for the ministry. We are the ones that run around on official business without S&T. All the money is always spent on Regional Office personnel, inspectors and directors trips. We understand that they are the ones against the mentor’s remuneration. My mentorship ends here. No free lunch anywhere in this world!

*MINISTRY of Education. What is going on with the loans we applied for? We didn’t get any feedback since we applied. We are now moving towards the mid-year exams and nothing is happening. We, the students in Katima Mulilo are worried.

*UNAM is expecting a high rate of failure in the Principles of Management module  due to the attitude of the lecturer. He is rude and students don’t understand him because of his Nigerian accent. Please Vice Chancellor, help us.

*I AM surprised at what is happening at Khomasdal’s Unam campus. My niece went to enquire about accommodation and she was told that there was a room open. She was told to pay an accommodation fee but after payment she was informed that there was no bed available. I am currently renting a place for her, while the accommodation fee was already paid. Why don’t they allow students who can afford it, to bring along their own beds?

Health
*THE Minister of Health should suspend all those involved in the recent negligence that resulted in the death of a baby at the Oshakati State Hospital pending an investigation. The situation at the state hospitals is disgraceful because there is no supervision at all. Who was in charge of the nurses at the particular time? State hospital staff behave as though they are a law unto themselves and someone needs to pay for this mindless callousness. If Minister Kamwi cannot carry out such a simple task then he does not deserve to be in that position. The time to play nice guy is over. Let some heads roll in that hospital. We need answers.

*WHAT happened to Adelheid Jacobs in Oshakati is a shame. How long will we allow the Miniser of Health and his nurses to commit murder? Richard Kamwi with all his incompetent nurses should be fired immediately to avoid further loss of lives.

*THE lives of innocent babies being lost because of greed? Minister Kamwi, if you can’t handle your ministry, do the honourable thing and step down, please. We thought you were a man of impeccable character. President Pohamba it’s clear that you don’t have time to read the newspapers, because you are silent on these issues that are so disturbing. Things are going on as usual, even though you reshuffled your cabinet.

*IF the Ministry of Health establishes that nurses in maternity wards are guilty of negligence, they should be suspended for at least six months without pay. That will set an example for other unruly nurses. It’s common in all our hospitals for nurses to act arrogantly and without a sense of care towards patients and other clients. Period.

Sport
*CONGRATULATIONS to the Otjozondjupa Region. Boys, you made us proud. Big thank you to the entire technical team.

*NAMPOST Maerua Mall. Please improve your customer service.
