Food for Thought
*I FAIL to understand why I should pay NBC TV licenses if I have a Multichoice decoder which provides me with all channels I paid for, including NBC TV. If I fail to pay, my account is always suspended, including NBC. So paying NBC TV and Multichoice to me is double pay. I need clarity on that.

*SWAPO does it again! Standing in the way of education, just because a good Samaritan makes a donation for a good cause. I’m a Swapo member but such things make me fear my party.
*I WOULD like to thank the Police Officers who effectively controlled vehicles on Sunday when the road was blocked as a result of an accident. You walked long distances because the car’s queue was very long, about 10km, in order to avoid further accidents and it was not easy at all. Police officers need to be regraded. I hope your Minister is aware of how difficult situations you are working in. Well done Police Officers.
*WHAT is happening at the Haihambo Primary School in Ohangwena is a clear example of how Swapo politics and loyalty to Swapo is more important then our children’s education and wellbeing. Definitely not a sustainable strategy for any organisation. And one has to question the state of mind of those who continue such politics at the expense of their own children.
*STANDARD Bank, when are you going to upgrade Khorixas Branch? It was a colonial era arrangement to make it an agency for Outjo and it borders on economic starvation for Khorixas.
*SHAME on you Swapo members for closing the school because of the fence Hamutenya gave to the school. He cares about education. Stop behaving like uneducated people.
*STANDARD Bank Namibia Ausspanplatz branch, its not rocket science. There’s enough computers, you just don’t have enough people to operate them. Don’t you see long queues every day? Something doesn’t add up. By the way, your services are rotten. Prove me wrong. I’m tired of queuing and need service as it was when people were employed with standard eight and 10 qualifications. Come on, I know you can do better, I hope it’s not only me!
*CONGRATULATIONS Governor of the Karas Region, on your efforts to bring much needed development to the South. The opening of Unam in 2014 is a step towards this. May God bless you and keep well.
*FNB advertise vacancies and the only way to apply is online. I have tried in vain to register but could not upload my CV and qualifications. Why all the hassle and trouble to register? Make your accessibility more friendly and easy, or provide alternatives.
*I FAIL to understand our Nation. What is the name Hidipo Hamutenya going to do to any of the scholars at the Haihambo Primary School. If Swapo is lead by real leaders they will stop this. Our kids don’t go to an RDP or Swapo school. They go to a government school and a school can be assisted by any Namibian. Is it because Hidipo is RDP? What about those who are not known who are teachers or students at the school. Do your tent force kids, teachers and parents to be Swapo. Please Swapo, get real!
Youth
*ELIJAH Ngurare, you are not a youth. Hence, there is nothing wrong with Hage Geingob and Nangolo Mbumba assisting the real youth to get one of their own to be elected. You belong to the elders please leave the youth to decide for them self.
*IN NAMIBIA, the SPYL Secretary General’s age restriction is 45. Elijah Ngurare only has three years to go, what then?
*NGURARE should have graduated to Parliament, to advocate for issues of the youth.
*CAN ONE blame Ngurare for holding on to being a youth? It is the mindset of African leadership, they don’t want to vacate leadership positions. Just look around and see if you can’t find a youthful president, of cause not.
*HOW CAN Swapo do this to the real youth, or does it mean Swapo youth are not able?
*HOW FAR can Swapo go? A 42-year-old youth? Is it real? Perhaps he got confused with 24? Ask him to go at once!
Education
*INTERNATIONAL University of Management (IUM), do you think we are stupid enough to waste our energy by writing examinations while we know that we have not qualified to sit for them? We want our result as soon as possible. Ministry of Education please intervene. We are paying lots of money for poor services. Our result are always pending.
*IUM, you always disappoint me when it comes to the results. We are not here to play Mickey Mouse with you. We are here to study further, but not backwards as you may want us to do by always rejecting our results for false reasons. I qualify to sit for exams but when the result comes out there is no result. You state that I didn’t meet minimum continuous assessment mark to sit for exam. Dr Iyambo come and help us.
– Angry student, Walvis Bay campus
*COMRADE Iyambo, education is falling apart in Oshana Region. Corruption has taken over everything. The vacation classes was a mess. Inspectors paid themselves N$24 000 just for ringing the bell, eating lunch and insulting observers, telling them that they should take that little money because they are incompetent. Teachers got paid N$7 200, apparently the remaining N$2 400 will be paid later. Poor observers got N$1 600. This so-called incompetent teachers, were the ones supervising study, marking learners’ tests and teaching when the need arises. Minister, please come and investigate. You will discover a lot of dirty hidden corruption. I suggest every teacher of the chosen vacation subjects teach at their respective schools so that all learners benefit instead of just choosing eight learners or so from each school. I honestly do not see any objective from that practice. Teachers let’s stand up and fight corruption.
Service Please
*SIX months down the line and I have not received my study permit. Ministry of Home Affairs, what is going on?
*LOTS of traffic jams in Windhoek. Schools started but synchronised traffic lights were still on winter time. Traffic department to blame for the chaos.
*CENSUS office, when are we going to receive our money for the extra three days? We are still waiting?
*MTC, it is a month now that we cannot even email our assignments from within and around Omuthiya. MTC, do something, please!
*HOME Affairs office in Okakarara closed offices and are at the Trade Fair. If you want help you must find them there. But to enter there a person must pay. I want only my identity card, I do not want to attend the Trade Fair. Why was no one left at the office for us who do not have money to pay at the gate?
Civil Service
*CIVIL servants, let’s put our hoes down while waiting for our salary increment. Enough is enough!
*LET the men and women in uniform, the soldiers and police think twice before voting. They will never acquire assets or a house in their lifetime with their meagre useless salaries. Wake up guys! Soldiers in Windhoek-East take note
-Sylvanus,Whk.
*The magistrates to receive a 15 per cent increase on top of already huge salaries! What for? Look at the statistics for court cases finalised! They do not deserve a single cent!
Roads
*IF I’M 100 per cent right, the biggest portion of the population of Namibia is driving through the Windhoek-Okahandja road to Otjiwarongo to all the northern parts of Namibia but a blind eye is turned to the safety of road users on this road. The only solution to this problem is to built double lanes at every hill, at every blind spot, at every bridge to stop all these accidents. A good example is the road between Windhoek and Gobabis. I am not saying that there are no accidents but they are very few, so please all relevant authorities and stakeholders, take note. Our lives are in your hands so take responsibility of the lives of Namibians traveling there and the visitors at large.
– MM Kavendjaa
*THE HORRIFIC accident on Sunday between Okahandja and Otjiwarongo, which claimed nine lives, is a wake up call to declare that a dangerous area. There is an urgent need to add lanes where possible till the whole dangerous area is covered. The responsible ministry or body please treat this as a matter of urgency. Namibia cannot afford to lose more lives. We have lost enough during the liberation war.
– Concerned Namibian Citizen
*I FIND it absolutely absurd that they are thinking of bringing the speed limit down to 110 km/h. I still think the majority of mini bus accidents are caused by overloading and worn out tyres and unworthy vehicles.
*DOES it really make sense for MVA fund or anyone else to warn road users to adhere to the road rules while many drivers can’t read and even don’t know the meaning of the roadsigns and are in possession of illegal licenses. Our nation need urgent help to prevent it. Inocent people are losing their lives! Arrange serious meeting with the mini busses drivers, taxi’s and please the meeting must be addressed in different languages for them to understand what is going on.
– Jarimbara H
*NAMIBIAN drivers need psychological counseling. I have come to observe that drivers on the roads have murderous intentions. They do not recognise danger on the roads when they see pedestrians crossing or cars on the roadside in distress. They would rather pass these incidences at the highest speed as possible. I have lost a son due to such recklessness by passing vehicle who would rather hit pedestrians and the law is vague on such incidences. In the Netherlands this is regarded as murder to hit pedestrians under the pretext they were on the road and you only get manslaughter. The law must lock such drivers up. A country of a few has such levels of driver intolerance. Go to Brazil and China and no one blows his horn when you cut in closely in front of them. Namibians must go back to the drawing board. Tolerance, courtesy and respect for other please. Leaders do something, this is more like an undeclared war.
